What was worse?

So this was prompted from the other board I visit (see sig), where my friend said that the VGA's couldn't have been as bad as the G4 Awards. I didn't get to see the G4 awards, so I couldn't say... but the VGA's were fucking unequivocally detestable.

So, what was worse?

I don't know, but I'm hoping TechTV offers an awards show of their own... something good enough to redeem the concept and make us forget all about those other disasters. The closest they've given us to an awards show was the Annual Non-Denominational Gift Buying Guide, which was corny but at least somewhat useful as a reference.

Actually, I don't even get G4... but I was completely unimpressed with VGA. I hardly like any recent games though (I'm not up on stuff like Metal Gear Solid and Halo), so maybe I'm biased or something.

Oh well, I've never liked any other awards shows, so I guess this certainly fits the trend (I like movies, but I hate the academy awards... I like hockey, but the NHL Awards are boring as hell).
