Which do you find is an easier venue for getting rid of your extra stuff? Or do you have other suggestions.

I used to think listing in the buy/sell forum on this board and others was the easiest. I might not exactly get the highest price, but it saved the trouble of an ebay auction and all the extra fees. Recently this changed. I offered something for sale on another board, after being made an offer which I accepted, and then swapping addresses, the person never responded it was a go. After 2 days I sent a follow up, then they asked a basic question about the item in question (which could have been answered looking at the pictures), using it to break the deal. If this was so critical it should have been asked during the first or second email exchange. In the meantime I put off a number of other buyers. In the end this cost me more time then setting up an auction, and I still have the item.

I understand buyers remorse, although I'm lucky in that I've never had an ebay buyer backout. Frequently when posting on buy/sell forums I get people who "kick the tires", maybe ask a question or two, ask you to jump through a hoop, and in the end very few people follow through. (I'm guilty of this as well). It seems we are all cheap, we know what things are worth, yet everybody expects a deal comparable to what you would get in the wild. I'm begining to get disgruntled. I'm debating boxing up all my doubles and everything else I never play up, storing it in the attic and forgetting about it for the next 10 years, by then maybe the world will have found an easier method.

I guess what I would see as the "important" difference here between eBay and Buying & Selling is that you didn't lose any money when the kid jerked you around. You don't have to pay any listing fees and don't have to worry about fighting to get them back when people don't pay; you also don't have to wait a certain amount of time before you offer the item to someone else.

I have decent luck on both honestly. Anything I don't sell on the forums pretty much hits eBay or I hang onto it for a while. Usually, I don't get stuck with all too much.

Certainly we're all guilty of this, though I would argue that I (for my part) don't expect to get prices like "in the wild..." I've found lots of people offer stuff for good prices, but then there have been times I overpaid, but I really can't say I care much ;)

Or perhaps it will all be worth much more :D I would bet on it, depends on what titles you're talking about, though.

Same here. I usually put an item out here, see what kind of response it gets in a day or two, if it isn't getting one then off to eBay it goes. I haven't had any problem with buying, selling, or trading with people here though I'm sure like real life there are deals that "fall through". Gotta take the good (quality buyers and knowledgeable ones at that) with the bad (casual atmosphere that doesn't "force you" to pay up).

It goes both ways really.

Here, you can get what your games are worth. Problem being it doesn't always go.

Ebay is hit and miss. Provided you don't set a reserve, you will often get less than what it is worth, though sometimes you can get lucky and get much much more.

I do both myself. For small items, (like my promo stuff and most strategy guides) I sell here to avoid the fees. For larger items, I post on eBay.

First I try here and then it goes to ebay usually. Also I have yet to have any problems buying, selling, or trading here, I have had plenty of problems with deadbeats on ebay though.

EBay because people don't ask me if I can hold something until they get paid and then string me along for months, ask me if I'll do trade when I've clearly stated I won't, try to get me to come down on prices that are already as low as I'm willing to go, etc. Not that all my expirences selling here have been bad. On the contrary, I've had many good ones. But when I absolutely need to sell something and don't want to mess around, I'm going to eBay.

I have bought some stuff from people on this board and it always came through. I think the key is to look at the good trader list in that forum.

I would much rather trade some of my games with you guys, then to go through the whole Ebay process. But when it comes to selling the item, I think I would rather go the Ebay route.

With Ebay, they have a set of rules and regulations, and when I'm selling something, I prefer to have that. Even though it doesn't always work.

But having said that, I would much rather trade games then sell them. The only problem is, that I have all these games avail for trade, and it seems like the trades have dried up. I was trading a bunch of games and stuff for awhile, but then it seems that everything has stopped. At least for me.

So unfortunately, rather than trading my stuff, I'm probably going to have to Ebay it.

Oh well.
