Pretty cool if they really are LE and not just some printer job.

I have no idea. They are cool looking though. I like the first one with baby mario crying.

Its the certificates that really stick out to me.

Nintendo could never have printed those? Could they?

One would expect to see a couple of things. First, a Nintendo seal -- they put the seal on everything, don't they?

Second, it would be comforting to see a signature under the handwritten numbers, preferably from the artist.

I could be wrong (and maybe I am), but I'll stamp this with some doubt. x_x

Fake.

As already mentioned, they lack any form of N brand stamp or seal and they lack a signature of any kind, which while not a major point, you'll find that N like to add authenticity and credibility to any item such as this by adding such personal marks (see shiggy poster prints given away in europe).

Secondly, the certificates are notably cheap and bland, printed on plain paper with no apparent watermarks or distinguishing copyright markings.

Finally, and most importantly, the creator has been particularily careful not to put N's logo on the items - that's a huge no-no for N and a big indicator of the items not even being officially endorsed by N, let alone produced by them.

By not using the N logo, the creator keeps themself clear of the brunt of copyright/patent infringement should N pick up on the sale of the items. After all, it's one thing to rip off a product, but to falsly use a registered logo to represent an item as an official product is fraud and is likely to draw the curse of a thousand lawyers very very quickly.

Totally off topic. But if I had a nickel for every time I've asked a girl that. LOL

Eh, they may be fake, but I'd still buy them for a good enough price.

I'd never pay a premium price for something like that because there really isn't any difinitive way to know for sure.

When I said a good price, I meant 5 bucks.

Those are definatly cool. Not sure if there real or not, but im leaning towards fake without the seal.

If it syays at $4 i may take it. Im sure they are fake because of the no seal and Nintendo brand. Cool to hang up though.

I recognized those right off the bat. I saw them in my old Nintendo Power Super Power Supplies Catalog Spring 1996. I took pictures which you can see here: www.angelfire.com/crazy2/mygames/Cartoon_Cels.JPG I cannot vouch that those 2 items are real or not, but the real cels do exist and they are limited 1 of 1000 out there.

Yeah, I had one of those catalogs and I thought those cartoon cells looked familiar. If you asked me, I would say there real, but then again you would be asking me. X_x

I retract my previous post -- that's enough proof for me... @_@

I'm not planning on bidding though, so have at it!

I was the high bidder ( hate the term winner ), the seller emailed me after the auction ended asking if I new anything about them as she had searched the Internet trying to find information before selling them, after a few emails she explained how she found them at a garage sale for 3.00.

Anyway I did get the impression she had zero information and I am relatively sure they are real. I am hoping to get a better idea after receiving them.
