I also actually found some games at the thrift shop. (Shatterhand and Jeopardy for NES for 2.00 a piece, but passed them up).

I got a Sega Genesis Model 2 with Mortal Combat 2 for 1.99 CDN.

I bought it because it was a package and I thought I needed MK2, but it turns out I already have it. :? At least it was only 2 bucks.

My finds mostly mirror Matt's. ^

We found this place together. They had more than one copy of most of those. Now, thanks to Matt and I, they have a fine selection of mostly sports tiltles! :P

Sadly the SNES and Genny carts are mostly "branded" by the vid store, but the NES carts weren't. yay! I'd say 2/3 had instructions.

Many of these with near mint or mint boxes. I think the SEGA CD's rarely if ever got rented. Little sun damage, as this place had dick all for windows!

Matt is good luck.

So far, here's what I've found:

* Atari Jaguar (console only) - $4
* Kid Icarus and Zelda 2 NES boxed with instructions - $10 for both
* Various NES games I don't have (I'm tying to collect all US NES games) - $.50 - $4 each. Highlights are SNK Baseball Stars and DK Classics.

There was a place where about 5 classic NES games were boxed for $5 each. They included Zelda 1, Elevator Action, and Excitebike amongst others. Should I go back and get the rest?

Well ,this wasn't an AMAZING deal, but I still couldn't pass it up. The local video store had a big sale and blew out some of their PS2 games...some were brand new, but they sold everything 3 for $50 Cdn, which is about 3 for $30 US.

I got:

Medal of Honor: Frontline
Mark of the Kri
Maximo: Ghosts to Glory

All for $50 Cdn! yay! I'm taking MOH: Frontline in with Starcraft 64 tomorrow to the local game store and getting Animal Crossing for free :)

Last week I passed up Ultima: Quest for the Avatar and Ultima: Warriors of Destiny for the NES, and when I changed my mind, the lady seemed to have sold all her nes games. Well, I was back this week and they were there! I ended up getting them both for 6.00 CDN. :)

I'm happy.

There was an Action 52 NES cart there, but the guy wanted 30 bucks for it, as well as Final Fantasy 3 I think for SNES, but the guy wanted 60 bucks for it.

And he wanted 60 for a NES pirate cart too. :(

But like I said, I'm happy. I thought I missed out on the Ultimas last week and was kicking myself for it. Moral of the story, don't leave a game behind if you think you are going to regret it.

Most of the chain pawn shops in this area are open on Sunday. The small single store outlets are closed though.

Yeah, all of the small pawn shops (usually the good finds are from these places) are closed sunday, but the big chains like pawn exchange are open Sundays. It's really rare to find old stuff in these big chains unless it was sitting in their backroom for years.....I might add I am certainly no expert in other areas of the country, so take this as a Seattle example.

Got a couple of NES games..

One of them: Action 52!! for 1$US!!!

The only problem with this cart is that there's a medium size hole in the back, in the plastic.. The front + label is all there and perfectly fine. The game also works perfectly fine..

I just bought it as bait for a big trade.. how much you guys think it's worth in this codition??

I picked up a COMPLETE Beeshu Zipper controller for NES for $1.25. I've seen these before, but never got one in the box. It doesn't look like its ever been used. The cable is still tied together, and the joystick knobs are still in the plastic baggie. Sweet.
