Today was my big day to search out the Oklahoma City thrift store/pawn shop scene and see what the video game market was like in my own town. While my findings weren't completely bare, good deals pretty much were.
The pawn shop closest to my house had the best deals: For games, they had NES/$2, SNES/$4, N64/$8, PSX/$8. PS2/GC/XBOX games were $10/$15, depending on the title (seemed like older sports titles were $10, everything else was $15).
One thrift store had four different open NES games for $2.50 each. Tetris, Super Mario, something Monsters and Dr. Mario.
One pawn shop had a complete Genesis with 2/controllers for $13, and extra controllers for $2/each. A thrift store had a Genesis (not sure of wires) for $10. Another thrift store had one with no accessories whatsoever for $7.
The biggest ripoff of the day had to be Game XChange. I stopped just to pick up a GC memory card and second controller, but I did notice they had packaged Atari 2600's with all wires/joysticks/paddles and 3 games for $79.99, and NES systems (same package) for $49.99. SNES commons were $5 w/o box, $7 with. DC/PSX games seemed to be between $10-$15 for the most part. Atari 2600 games were $5-$10 for little 5 cart packages, mostly commons (all of them seemed to have at least one Combat and Asteroids in them).
That was pretty much my findings after hitting ten thrift stores and five pawn shops.
