Ok guys, why the HELL are you bidding on it now! I mean seriously, all your doing is making the price higher and higher for yourselves, this is why you can never find good deals on eBay...bidding wars. :o

6 days left and you're bidding. x_x  x_x

Well , like I always say. You don't have to be smart to be a collector. LOL

And yes , Us sellers LOVE when you buyers do it. LOL

12-06-2003, 07:54 PM
Yeah, I almost didn't say that because I was like...oh damn, this sellers gonna jump down my throat. But yeah, I love it when people do that when im selling but its usually just casual gamers doing it. But to see collectors being dumb enough to raise the price on a game that basically, the buyers set the price on anyways, it pretty damn sad.

With me, I never EVER bid any less than a few seconds before the end, and then I usually set the bid into EZSniper to do it for me in like the last 3 seconds...even if the item has 0 bids on it.

I still can't believe people have yet to figure out that once they get into a bidding war that all they have to do is STOP BIDDING and the other seller will to! Then just hit it in the last few seconds with a high bid and its yours for 1/2 what you pay if you kept up the bidding! Common fucking sense people. :o

Wink...Wink...

That's why I stopped..

That's what I do as well after I do put in a starting wager I usually let it go til the ending seconds..

So I will make my pressence fealt later on in that auction trust me..

MarioAllStar2600
12-06-2003, 08:21 PM
I know I don't ahve teh cash to pay for this. SO why not bid now? If I really wanted something thats when I snipe. ;)

Cmosfm
12-06-2003, 08:22 PM
Putting in a starting wager also makes no sense...it still raises the price and the person bidding on it sees that someone else is trying to get it too (even if your only the first) and will place a higher bid at the very end. I know if Im going to place a killer final bid with an auction that has 10 different bidders It will be MUCH higher than an auction with only 5 different bidders. So your starting wager still hurts the overall price in the end.

Cmosfm
12-06-2003, 08:27 PM
so Marioallstar...your just raising the price for the hell of it!?!?!?!? Oh man, thats worse than actually getting into a bidding war. Just wait until you really want someone and see how fun it is when someone else does this same little price raising game and you have to pay 2-3 times more than you prefer to get the item you really want. x_x

I have been doing the same as I always have ever since I've been using EBAY and Yahoo auctions.

So thanks for the advice but I still like the way that I do my bidding. That is why I have a high percentage of wins compared to items that I lose..

Cmosfm
12-06-2003, 08:49 PM
Your method is your method...if you want to do it that way who am I to stop you. But while your winning more than your losing, I'm winning just about everything I bid on, cheap too!....over 4 years of eBay experience and you kinda tend to learn all the tricks. :P

since when is there an ebay rule book saying when you place bids?
if i want to bid right now, i will bid right now- i dont see how it is going to alter the auction much one way or the other if i bid now or at the last 3 seconds.

I lost count of how many whiners are on this board when it comes to eBay and bidding..

it always goes somewhat along the lines:

"Man.. I was out bid in the last 3 seconds.. and I would have paid more than that closing amount.."

Well guess what! If you bid now, and put the amount you really want, not only will you weed out all the children, but you know you're not gonna be sucked into some crazy bidding war.

Every time I see a collector post their collection, one pice at a time, I proxy bid the max amount I want to pay for that item. I end up bidding for 30-50 items at once like that.

And you know what, 50%+ of the items, I get.. for less than my max, for a great price, and I don't need to track the items.

Only morons get into a bidding war.. and bidding wars always happen at the end. So put the amount you want, and you'll never feel bad about it.

Here.. here..

I totally agree with Leonk on this one. Well goodluck on keeping that bid standing at the top for the NWC game..

I will see you 6 days from now online when it's about to finish up..

oddly enough, the coloration of the label is really pretty, if it wasn't for the slight peeeling of the end label this is cart would go for a ton, as it is my guess is $1000-1200.

Guys: this thing is going to end between $1200 and $1700 whether you bid in the first minute, or at the last second. Preventing a bidding war can keep the price of an auction artificially low for regular items, not highly sought after ones. This is a HIGH PROFILE item in EXCELLENT condition. Somewhere in the world, there are two guys who are going to both be putting up bids over $1500 in the last 30 seconds, regardless of whether the auction is at $1 or $1000 with a minute to go.

kind of a silly, irrelevant question. But, why do people scan items? I can't imagine scanning things. Is it just because they don't have a camera? Or is a scan just better for some things?

MarioAllStar2600

NESuser- Im guessing it's a better pic. I mean you don't have to know where t ohold the camera, or deal with lighting problems.

I would bet on it. People who are waiting to find one with a MINT cart and label NWC are going to be waiting forever. This one is in very nice shape and that little bit of peeling is pretty common on the NWC grey carts. The ones I have seen on ebay in the past year or so seemed to all have some label discoloration or slight/severe damage. Mine is slightly peeled up, but if it really bothered me, I could reglue it back down easily.

I am actually surprised about how many hardcore collectors have already drove this up above $1k. 5 days left and at $1200, it'll hit $1500 at least IMHO. Don't worry about me bidding though! ;)

Agreed, maybe it would make me a shady seller but glue is glue, if I were going to sell it I would be sure to glue down any loose bits prior to listing. Best aesthetic appearance = bling bling.

My best on that cart is 3.8 million. Best I know is Thor, he got 5.2 a few years back. He won the tourney with 3.2 back in 1990.

I don't believe so, it has 2 eeproms on the board that would be dumpable, but it also has a huge board with a bunch of other hardwired chips. I have no idea what the other chips do, but I'm pretty sure the game wouldn't work with out them.
