Im sorry, but at a minimum I need an mpeg of you walking into the store, finding them, walking to the counter, asking the clerk if he is a friend of yours and this was set up, a puzzled reaction from the clerk, the camera being trained on the five dollars you pay with, walking out of the store, a zoomed in close up of both the carts and the receipt and with no gaps in the tape to prove you didnt set this up and this is legit. Pictures may be worth a thousand words to some people, I need a little more.

Who do we have to thank for this skepticism ?
Try every newbie poster that comes in here every month with some ridiculous claim . And then when they are asked for proof they never show it and then eventually they dissappear.

And I'm not saying that's what you're doing pango. It's just happens so much it gets a little tiring. O_O

I guess I've missed these people. I don't doubt they're out there, but I didn't realize people thought it was a real problem. I do think that the first five posts or so could've been a bit lower key though. o_O

And not one of them was able to prove it or even offer up enough evidence that it was nothing more than blather.

I hope pango DID find it, because that means that this really can happen. But the skepticism is well-founded on the DP boards and even *I'm* tired of the "Stadium Events for a buck" claims. So count me in with the "I'll believe it when I see it" crowd. Same song, same dance, just different performer this week is all.

Guilty until proven otherwise. Maybe 10 years ago these types of finds were possible but not today and especially at a game store. Sorry but unless the receipt has the exact names of the games then I cannot believe it. 8-)

We'll see. Different parts of the country have had their stock of video games dry up at different times, and I've seen some pretty amazing things on eBay the past few days ($125 Apple Lisa 2? Crikey) so I'm pretty much ready to believe anything.

Yeah, its hard to believe just any old person posting something unless your well respected around here. I believe if Joe posted something we'd all believe it. But being that you got TWO of the rarer items at a gamestore dirt cheap, and were only pround enough to type 2 sentences about it, it makes it a hard to believe claim.

But then again we're not talking about the NWC cart...these are possible to find out in the wild...you'll bless the day when you DO find them, but its not impossible because Im pretty sure theres at least one idiot kid sitting on at least one of these in every town or area. Thats why I'm hoping to luck up one day and get one. But when I post about it I will have evidence proving it.

Of course it actually can happen.

Who was it that actually DID find two staidum events carts for a dollar last year and then proved it? I know he was a big time poster here that several people knew personally. He ended up winning "find of the year" or whatever.

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised at pango's good luck. Some unfortunate souls give away valueable items, not knowing their true worth. It's our grim duty to take advantage of their mistakes and fork over a minimal amount of money for an ice cube in a volcano. Know what I mean?

Well, about a year ago in my local EB, I got lucky and found a Suikoden II in there for $40. I bought it, intending to give it to a friend of mine who really liked the game. As I'm leaving, a parent stopped me (outside the store) and offered me $70 for it. I sold it. :D

Okay...good news and bad news. Here's the problem, I was very unclear when I made my first post since I meant to say I saw them both at game exchange and was planning on buying them. I suspected no one would notice them for a day so waited untill the next day. WTF!!!!!!!!!! @_@ @_@ @_@ @_@ Stadium Events is gone!!!! Luckly, Miracle was there, but NO!!!! I asked the guy if he had seen it (he had never heard of it of course) and described it to him. He then said that some girl came in the other day looking for power pad games. GOD DAMMIT!!!! Now my Stadium Events that I could have owned is in the hands of someone who probably doesn't know what it is. I know I sound like complete bullshit right now, but I swear that it was there on Sunday! Jeez, I should of stolen the thing... :frustrated: .

Dude, thats just sad.

If I were to find something like that, and I didn't have any money, I'd at least ask the guy to hold it for me for 10 mins while I ran home or something. But like that would really happen. Hey, gotta give you some credit, at least you didnt say you found the NWC cart...doesnt make you any less of a liar though. :o

2. If I was lying I wouldn't pointlessly make a post about it. That isn't even something fun to lie about.

3. If it would be enough for me to prove to you bastards that I'm not lying, I'll get the guy who said he sold some powerpad games to the other chick to sign a paper that he actually said that, I will. I'll even see if he still has the receipt.

4. He told me that the girl who bought it trades frequently and if she trades it he will hold it for me.

5. ONCE AGAIN! I AM NOT LYING!!!!!!

If you are not lying, why would you say you grabbed some great finds and were going to take photos of them with the reciept?? You also found out their value and still waited a full day to go back. This is for the rarest NES game out there!!
If I found out that I just left 2 games valued at $315, I would have hauled ass back there. Hell, I have done that when the game was only worth $20 and my goodwill is 30 minutes away.

I can't remember his name but he was from california LOL I never saw proof, but it didn't much bother me. It was irrelevant, as i didn't want to buy it nor did I care too much. you probably didnt see stadium events in the first place , it was most likely athletic world or world class track meet which are a dime a dozen and are VERY easily mistaken

MarioAllStar2600

I think were treating him a little harsh. I have mistaken common carts for raritys when i was a newbie to. When I first found Dizzy adventures I called up all my friends bragging I foun an alladin cart. it wasn't. Everyone is being a little to harsh just cause he messed up. Dont be so quick to talk though.

And to the idiot who said ban him. Thats a little harsh. Especially considering you don't even have a cherry newbie!

pango

ok, finally read all of the posts. and my question is, honestly.....in all ways that i can be as nice as possible. are you really that stupid? that's like seeing a copy of hot slots in the box for $10 and thinking it will be there tomorrow. I mean, it is believable but I can't think of an occasion over the last year when i thought somebody acted this silly. Did you not have the money? Did you really think it would still be there, honestly? don't lie to yourself, these things don't happen every day and they usually don't last more than a few brief moments for the exact reason that this didn't. either somebody with knowledge enters this game store regularly or the slightly rarer occasion of some stupid lady coming in and buying a goldmine that she will never know about. I'm going to sit and ponder the rest of the night and see if I can understand how you honestly thought that game would be there the next day.....I'm not trying to bash...but really....
