100 seems a little steep, especially plus shipping...a new in box with mint box atari went for 60 dollars on ebay recently with I think 15 dollar shipping...maybe it just went low though...

I love it when people think they are the godfather of gaming
and ebay..

DUDE if you are not intrested in buying it... then please
proceed to shut the hell up... thanx.
Do you have the hundred bux to pay me after you may have just lost
it for me? christ almighty .

Ok so because i dont sleep and eat on ebay , i wouldnt know
what the going rate for a beat up atari goes for
but my atari is way spiffy so ill keep it at $100+shipping BECAUSE
it has the controllers, it has the games and it has catalogs and comics
from back in the day.

tell you what. buy the atari, ill throw in the pac man tray ...
hows that ?? that better for you?

well yes it was...

It's not what i said or how i said it...
i was just pointing out how jacked it is to smooosh somebodies
sales.

Thats what a bored person does.

When im shopping for $1.500 bikes, i never fuck around with a seller
like that. i only asked the condition of the bike and how old.

And I'll disagree ......

I feel like the DP Forums are my home and the members are my Family.
And if someone comes in trying to rip-off my family I'm going to let them know about it.
I didn't feel like $100 was a rip-off so I didn't say anything, but I don't blame someone for looking out for others on these forums.
In fact a lot of times people try to sell something for to much and when someone tells them it is a little high they reply " Thanks I didn't know that " and then they lower it and it sells .
So I say " Thanks Can-Dude for watching our backs " 8-)

why was somebody shooting at you or some shit?

Like ive seen on one forum....
"A collector should know the guidlines or they deserve to be taken"
or something like that..

so what your saying is you need somebody to hold your hand when
you buy a game?

I aim to please and i woulda given the buyer every cent worth
of atari goodness if they bought it..

So now are you gonna chip in and replace the $100 i coulda made?
Thanks for getting a gamers back that has been gaming for over 20 years
dude...

Besides,, maxlords has been to my house.. stayed over night
and has seen this atari 2600 ...
thats why he knew i wasnt kidding...
THANKS FOR GETTING MY BACK MAXLORDS...
great i feel better now too. no not really but.

I look at all the stuff here for sale,,, if i dont want it personally ,,, i say nothing and move along..

how hard can that be?
i mean its not like either of you were gonna spend $100 on games or something so why bother right?

Actually hu6800, I contacted you privately about buying this. However, it's not what jonjandran or can_dude posted about it which turns me off. It's your attitude.

You weren't attacked. However, you respond to others well thought out posts by attacking and spewing nonsense. This will turn people off faster than almost anything else.

If you had simply responded with something like, "Well opinions differ. This item is in mint condition and well worth $100, blah blah", you'd have a better chance of selling here.

Remember, all we know about you is what you write in your posts. Other than a sleep over with a respected mod, you admitted to me you have no references.

I'll sit back and wait to get slammed.

Jeez, can people just relax for a little bit?

It was wrong of Can_Dude to pull out the snippet of "well it was on eBay for XX$" There are some people here who HATE when sellers on eBay reference another auction because "it went for that amount!"

At the same time, I think it's free to put out other offers if you feel that $100 is too high. "Being taken for a high price on DP"? Some people have a set price in mind they want to get for their item, so they start it at that. (I usually do, and due to the "high price" I sometimes want, I just go straight to eBay...it's not about what you think you can "rip off" people for, it may just be what you want to get out of it :o )

to hu6800: just relax. breath, you can post without the attitude and the swearing alright?

Once again another immature person who belongs elsewhere.

No where in my post did I say anything negative about you or your item and yet you feel the need to to respond with childish cursing and complaining.

 x_x  x_x

I'm guesssing one look at your posts and people will go elsewhere.

Yeah got got good points..
I was at first just stating the fact that i dont like people
scratching my paint (fucking up my "for sale" ads)
even after a mod chimed in,,, somebody else opened thier mouth..
yeah,, thats like attacking a single seller.
Ive been selling rare turbogfrafx and sega stuff across the world
since before the turbocompendium existed...
one of my customers being Kabuki/satan666 = justin cheer.
wish i knew where the hell he was right now haha.

but if i put my pcengine LT for sale here for $600
i could only imagine the bashing id get..
but thats what i paid for it so thats what id want back.

that atari is in the best possible used condition one can imagine.
it would be like buying it new and opening it for the first time.
to somebody thats gotta be worth $100.
plus it includes extra's.
If you do not think its a fair price...
then just leave the post alone ,,, christ....
I mean it seems kinda fishy that somebody would mention me for info,,,
then have his boy jack me over in this for sale ad...
maybe to lower the price for him????

Achika's got a problem with no Battlezone to move this to.

Let's press RESET here.

hu6800 is alright in my book, though his style is a little unorthodox. I hope he sticks around long enough for us to get to know him, but I can say that personally he's already helped me out and asked for nothing in return - that's rare. Though I've never met him personally, his "attitude" reminds me of my friend Adam (SpasticFuctard) who probably comes off a little rough at times but just speaks his mind - and fairly so. It doesn't sound as rough "in person", where you can hear the sarcasm and attitude. Such is the way of the internet.

I'm very much SPLIT on the "calling out" of a personal transation in the Buying and Selling forum. On the one hand I do see everyone looking out for one another, but I think I"m more against someone killing a seller's thread just because they disagree with the price. If you're not smart enough to do your homework or ask around, and you pay too much, it's really not anyone HERE's problem, is it?

So let's press RESET. hu6800 if you want to re-post it, feel free. Let's just try to keep it friendly.
