My MAME61 happiness is in full swing. Today I played Final Fight, ah the memories... Back in the early 90's, me and two of my friends would all hit the arcade on Saturday morning right when the gates would open. The cabinet was built for three and we had our money with us. There was always an argument as to who would control who. I was a Haggar kinda' guy, but Guy has the most wicked combo in beat'em gaming history.
We all played the Final Fight coin-op, now tell me, who did you prefer?

guy his speed makes up for his little lack in power and i can't get mame to work on my pc :(

As much as I realize that it is the WRONG choice, I almost always play "serious games" with Mayor Haggar. That spinning punch/swat attack is great for clearing rooms and the jumping head slams aren't too bad either. Yep, Haggar for me.

I pick Cody.. not only is he the "middle" man, but he's the cutest! *lol*
Seriously tho, Cody for me. I'm lacking talent-wise, so I need someone that takes the middle road in skills to balance it out.

Haggar.
He's the only guy I could win the SNES version with in one credit. Plus he has that cool, almost Sinistar-ish shout.

Playing with Guy is fun, but Haggar has all the right moves. The chokegrab can kill lesser goons in mere seconds, and the pile driver is a good way to knock a bunch of enemies out at once. Also, his flying kick can be cancelled into a flying leap, and vice versa.

Haggar! No matter what Final Fight game you play, you can always play as Haggar! Even Mighty Final Fight and Final Fight Revenge!
I also pick Haggar every time I play Muscle Bomber (Slam Masters)...

I always play as Cody. I like his pseudo-boxing style. Unfortunately, I've never seen one of these in the arcade, so the first time I played one was on the SNES. Tell me, did the original Final Fight really include Guy? Because the SNES version had only Haggar and Cody.

The original version contained Cody, Guy and Haggar, and for SOME reason the SNES version was only Cody & Haggar. Final Fight Guy for the SNES was just Guy & Haggar.
I think the definitive home version of the arcade game is the Sega CD version. 2-player simultaneous, all 3 characters, no stupid Nintendo censorship...
