Ok, I didn't have many PS2 demos... but, recently, through trades and pourchases, (BTW, the package came sisko) I have found that MANY PS2 demos are on DVD discs... but why? If they (Technically are supposed to be) free, why dare they on the larger discs? Do they really take up more space than, say, Mad Maestro or Hypersonic eXtreme? Even if so, I find it hard to believe... anyone know why?

I don't know the answer, but I do know that the first three PS2 games I bought (SSX, NBA Live and Madden) are all on DVD discs as well, and all three are under 700 meg each and would easily fit on CD-Rs.
My guess is, for production reasons, it's probably simpler and cheaper to burn everything on one type of media, instead of recalibrating equipment or maintaining two different manufacturing systems to be able to make both kinds of discs. I'm sure blank DVDs don't cost Sony much more than blank CDs do when you buy (or make) them in the numbers they do.
Just a guess.
