I thought this seemed like a nice topic. If you are not sure what a cult game is, it's a game that everyone either passionately loves or detesfullly hates. There's usually one group of people who love one of these games giving it its title. Here are some examples:
Earthbound (SNES)
Little Big Adventure (P.C.)
Dink Smallwood (P.C.)
Many of these titles are also known as indie games. My favorite, without a doubt, is Earthbound.

Animal Crossing....cult game?? If so, I would probably say that that is my favorite cult game. I used to be very addicted to it...haven't played since the summer though.

LITTLE BIG ADVENTURES ___HELL YA, I forgot about that one. I never got to play the sequal :( :(
Not me but I some of my friends are still die hard Rise of the Triad (PC) (I guess I'm in the hate it catagory for that one)

I'm guessing that every bowling game ever made, with the possible exception of Ten Pin Alley for the PSX counts as a cult game.
Also, I'd say Grim Fandango for the PC fits that as well. Man I really want to play that game again...got to year 3, and then my game crashed, and could never get it going again :( I want to see the rest of the story...

DDR is a cult game? Than I'm a card carrying member.
You can also add the rest of Bemani and pump it up! to that..... I love them all.

I thought little big adv. , monkey island and ROTT were pretty mainstream.
anyway i think : death trax and stunts were the cool cult games too

another one of my favorite cult games is vanguard bandits. an rpg/fighter hybrid that virtually no one really heard of.
