I'm just curious about these. They appear to be the same as the released version, but the label says "Not for Resale--Demo Only." I have come across a couple of these over the years, and added them to my collection. I happened to crack them open and compare them to the regular version of the cart, and there appears to be little difference--Chip #'s and such are different however. Where did these come from? Were they carts used in display kiosks at retailers? Are they hard to find? What games had "demos"? I'll list the demos I know of, and if anybody knows more about these, or other SNES "demo" carts, I'd appreciate a response.

Contra 3: Alien Wars
Donkey Kong Country 2
Ken Griffey Jr.'s Winning Run
NCAA Basketball
Street Fighter II
Street Fighter II Turbo
TMNT IV: Turtles in Time
Tetris Attack

I might be wrong, but I think these are just carts that were found in those "play before they come out" style machines they have at Target and KB and all that.

Add Donkey Kong Country 2 to your list. I have a demo cart of that.

I have NCAA Basketball. I saw 2 when I bought it and only go the one. Doh! I could have passed one on to someone.

Are these demos worth any more money than the regular carts? or are they just interesting?

they're worth more, but not a whole lot.

AFAIK only 1 or 2 of the demo label are actually different from the released games. All the rest of demos are nothing more than label variations.

I'm collecting them as well as I have the SNES display model (with the black RGB monitor and the red light bar above the monitor) and I'd like as many demo labels Ias I can find, cheap that is.
