Yesterday I was going through my SNES collection and discovered some action treasures noone seems to care about.

and so I want YOU to post some ACTION games (8 and 16bit; 2D) which were highly underrated, not mentioned (in magazines etc) or simply forgotten (due lack of ads etc) back in the past!

Here are mine (I only have nes/snes stuff cause I'm a fanboy):
SNES:
------------
Hagane
Everyone was talking bout "Shinobie" and "Hagane" was ignored. What a shame!! I dare to say that it is THE perfect action game: Awesome graphics+sound; perfect gameplay and hard but FAIR difficulty.
Why does noone mention it nowadays? Just Contra3 etc bla bla bla :shameful:

------------
Realm
Also a great action game. OK,it may have it's faults in leveldesign and gameplay but it's fun to play and gfx are also good.
------------

NES:

------------
Kabuki Quantum Fighter
Weird story, smooth animations and great leveldesign.
What do u want more?
-------------

..more to come

Now gimme yours!

Great topic. :)

I have a pantload of submissions to make...

Gunstar Heroes (Genesis)
Journey to Silius (NES)
Mystic Defender (Genesis)
Splatterhouse (Arcade, TG-16)
Alien Soldier (Genesis)

I have many, many more that I could post here... BTW, I'd play these games if you're into platformers just loaded with action. They're all pretty difficult, to some extent.

Cybernator - SNES (at least, I don't remember much news of it until I tried it on an emulator)

Shatterhand - NES

Wow, everybody's pretty much taken my picks and added a few (some of which I've only seen in the NP mags I've gotten recently), but I'm still going to add one: Run Saber for the SNES. Cannot say I've played it, though.
