I sold two copies of windows 95 on floppy. Both were BIN auctions, neither of the auctions say directly that they work. but one copy was NIB and the other was completely loose. so.........

1. I get an email from the guy with the new one, he says that some of the disks don't work.

2. (2 weeks after shipment) the buyer of the loose diskettes contacts me and says that some of the disks have corrupt files and one is blank. which, I really don't think is true.

What does everybody think I should do here? I was ticked about the one guy, i mean, the diskettes were sealed.......and he hasn't emailed me back since i told him it seemed a bit fishy. and now this buyer says this? any thoughts here?

they both want full refunds as well.....and I haven't had any real problems on ebay. If i send somebody something it's usually smooth sailing. I've had 3 NPB now and have feedback of 114(100% pos) so what does everybody think?

I could see it happening with the loose one. It can happen. But the NIB one no way, they may both be trying to take you for a free ride, copy the disks then get a refund. I had someone try that with my FFVII PC auction. said one of em were cracked. I offered to send them a refund if they mailed me the discs back. NEver heard from them again. There are some people like this unfortunatly.

those were my exact thoughts. and i got an email back just recently from the buyer of the open ones explaining a little more on the problem. And he explained that it had these problems at one time and other problems at another time, and it seems very legit. he also told me he wasn't going to leave negative feedback and blah blah blah. But i think we're going to meet somewhere in the middle, i'll send him partial refund and he can pitch them. There are some stories that just twist things into the believable state and his was one of them. Maybe he's just a good liar but I feel as if he should get a partial refund. We'll see though...Thanks for the reply!

Believe it or not a lot of the times it's the floppy disk drive itself.
A lot of the times they weren't well made and they are getting older.
He may have a 15 year old computer he's trying to install it on ?

Also I've had NIB floppies get erase or corrupted if sat on a Home Speaker system or TV. Magnets will erase them, so it could be that.

$35 and $25 with the prices for which being obvious. I was thinking it was their floppy drive myself....

Well, I was thinking that too about the floppy drive. But alot of people collect old software esp old os's. Plus you never know when you may need it. It sounds crazy but I have had to use dos disks occasionally, so it does happen. Not everyone uses the latest stuff, I mean I use a old laptop with win98 that was upgraded from 95, I jsut use it for basic e-mail and notes for school while I am in class.

i had it for an old laptop that the parallel port went bad on. You could hook up a printer but not an external cd drive. and it was a P133 or something along those lines. floppy was the only answer and the new copy I picked up at goodwill :D
