I don’t know if this is old news or not, but I was watching G4TV.com (a decent show on the cable channel G4), and there was somebody showing part of his game collection. Some of the items were the Nintendo Championships Gold cart, various Sega Saturn games (Panzer Dragoon Saga, House of the Dead, etc.), and many other items. When he was done, they asked where they could find out about older games, and he mentioned this website. They also showed a picture of the recent guide. ---Nice plug for the website and the guide.--- Of course the segment was for the beginner, but it was still nice to see that the website I read daily will be enjoyed by many more people after this broadcast. Keep an eye out for the show. I would have taped it, but it was kind of a nice surprise when I saw it. I can try to tape it next time if someone is interested. Trust me, it WILL be on again.

Sorry about the confusion. There is a show on the G4 cable channel which is called G4TV.com. I think the reason they call the show G4TV.com is because they usually do a whole show around a topic that was discussed on their message boards. It has three hosts that discuss video games and they have live callers and live chat if I remember correctly. The show usually has a guest that promotes their company's new game. At the end of the show, they usually have a video game face-off between the hosts and the loser of the game has some sort of embarrassing thing happen to them. It sounds rather juvenile, but it's not bad. Hope this clears things up.

I wish someone would rip it so I could WATCH it!
This also explains the sudden burst of book orders - was that me getting interviewed? Or someone else from Tips & Tricks?

Hey, Joe, I can't rip it as I don't have the technology but, if you like, I would be glad to record it for you on old-fashioned VHS tape. I could also record you a sampling of the other G4 shows if you like. Just say the word... :D

do you have a NWC gold cart?, he said the guy interviewed showed one, so if you have one, there's a good chance it's you. If not there's only 26 of the buggers and you'd probably know who it is if they had one.

You're probably right - if he said he OWNED one, it's Jason. I thought it was just someone talking about and/or displaying one (as I had done for someone at CGE last August).
Jason's better in front of a camera anyway!

Hey, Joe, I went ahead and recorded that show for you and will send it out to you either Monday or Tuesday so you can see it. Since you don't get G4, I recorded a couple other shows for you to check out, too...one episode of Filter (a top ten show), a couple episodes of Judgment Day (their games review show) and even one episode of Starcade...

So was it Jason Wilson in the interview?

Yes, that's indeed who it was. Now I need to record it for myself...I try to record most of the G4Tv.com shows for myself as well as Judgment Day, the two shows on G4 I like the most. JD I usually get plenty of chances for but each G4tv.com episode only airs for a week...then the new one debuts on Friday night and it is seen for the next week.

Joe, I mailed the video tape out today so you'll hopefully get it Wednesday or Thursday...look for it in a priority box. I also finally got around to renewing my Digital Press subscription today (online)...now all I need to do is get around to ordering that CD you've been offering in DP...

Got the tape and watched it yesterday.
Jason, nice job! You didn't look like you were having a very good time, though! The content was great though, and I appreciate the plug!
Rog, thanks for the tape! I watched all of the extra stuff too. I owe you one!

You're welcome, Joe. I hope you enjoyed the entire tape. G4tv.com and Judgment Day are probably my two favorite G4 shows. Tommy Tallarico is a hoot on that show though he doesn seem to repeat himself a lot. He's always making a point of criticizing games that don't have "live music" (of course, he would, being a musician himself) and his favorite phrase must be "...at the end of the day" which he seems to use at least once an episode. I don't know if he actually used that on either episode I taped for you, though.
Do you get Tech TV? They also have a video game program called X-Play which I kind of like. They also have fun on their show. In one show where they discussed Tak and the Power of Juju, the female co-host (Morgan Webb) even dressed up in a chicken suit and started throwing explosive eggs at everyone...

I did enjoy the whole tape. Is "Judgement Day" some kind of spinoff (or renamed) "Electric Playground"? I recall seeing Electric Playground on TV once and this reminded me of it very much. I like Tallarico too, he's straight-up a gamer. Doesn't get bogged down in tech terms, which is pretty refreshing. He's like the guy that comes over your house to play.

I do watch X-Play religiously and though I HATE the new format (in that weird robot room), I LOVE Morgan Webb. Fair trade-off.

I don't really remember the earlier version of X-Play (which I think was called Extended Play, right?) so I can't compare. I only saw one or two episodes, never remembering to watch it.
Judgment Day is basically an extended version of The Electric Playground's "Reviews On The Run" segment in that it's all reviews at various locales. G4 is also showing "The Electric Playground" and they're even doing new episodes for it now. Again, if you want to see more of G4's programming, I'll be happy to tape some more for you (this offer limited to people named Santulli).
Game Show Network has also gotten into airing shows about video games. They're showing episodes of Game Sauce and Gamer.tv (not sure if that's the actual title of that one). These are, I believe, British-made programs and were actually shown for awhile on G4.

I saw 'ol Jason on G4tv.com (that's how I got here!). Good 'ol Jason, the man who claims he has every American NES cartridge...
Anyway, why would you want to watch those on Game Show Network when they're on G4 as well? They're under their "International Gamer" program.
As for my fave G4 TV shows, they're Electric Playground/Judgment Day (Because Tommy is da man), and Cinematech (can't beat ramdom footage from games!)

I actually don't watch the British shows for the most part...and I'm not sure the two GSN is showing are still on G4 anyway. I think the only British show I've enjoyed is the game show one.
