I swear this guy puts a jinx on me every single time I put a bid on a Magical Chase game... even after bidding what I consider the outragous amount of $177. But I do want to check out his 18 TurboGrafx's all playing unique Magical Chase games simultaneously.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm kicking myself for not paying $400 for a sealed copy of this when I had the chance.

He did the same thing to me on every Bonk 3 CD that was up until I finally won one. He bought like 4+ copies for over $300 each. I have no idea what he does with all these games.

Why don't you snipe? Woudln't that help?

Sorry to hear about your bidding war.

Out of curiosity, why does this game command such a high price?

This is actually the first time I've heard about this game. I'm not too knowledgable when it comes to TTI items, although I do own some of the rarer games like "Dracula X", "Dungeon Explorer II" and "Jim Power".

I also previously owned "Beyond Shadowgate" but sold it last year because it was such a godawful game. :P

Please tell me more about Magical Chase.

I'd snipe, but it wouldn't really help because I would normally refuse to pay more than $100 for a HuCard game. I should have bought this when I could have gotten it for a little over $100. Ole andre_henretta outbid me on at least 2 auctions back then, but I saw him get outbid at around $110-$115 on a couple of others. I've also seen him win at least a couple of others for even more. The thing that gets to me, like Ikari Warrior also said, is why do you need so many of one game? Unless you hold competitions or something of the like, it's just bogus.

It's a hard to find game, billed as the rarest TurboChip game in the Collector's Guide. I guess that's why it always goes for a lot of money. It looks pretty cool, too. I've played a little of it, and it is pretty fun. $262 or whatever this one went for is just way too rich for my blood, though.

$262 for a HuCard!!! You must be a pretty hardcore Tg16 collector to pay that kind of money!! @_@

It's an investment. If you have many, many copies of a rare game, you drive up the value of them by removing them from the market.

Why would you want to pay 400 for a game? Maybe if you can sell it on ebay for a big profit I guess. But 200 for one gme is pretty high unless its like the rarest game and the last you need for your collection. geeze.

He's still at it. I swear to God he wants to own every copy available. Don't know what the deal is with him.

That kind of shit pisses me off. This one guy just did this to me on a SMS lot. I forgot to bid when the auction was ending so he didn't really snipe me but I really wanted that damn golden axe warrior game in the lot and he has like 3 already. What iiritates me even more is it's some asshole who "claimed" I never sent him some genesis boxes and filed a claim against me on paypal without even emailing me or anything about the matter. He has never directly emailed me about the issue, just filed a claim and that was it. Now I drive the extra 2 miles to get confirmation on every fucking thing I send. Oh well, cheaper there anyways.

I know.
I HATE that guy. (well, I don't hate anyone, but he always has the high bid on games I want!)

I've come so close to emailing him a completely irrational, pissy email just to let him know how aggravating he is.

What I'll probably do is just snipe a Magical Chase at the last second, vastly overpaying for it just for the satisfaction of beating him. He really makes buying Turbo stuff on ebay a major hassle.

Dude he HAS to be reselling them for a profit. Maybe he owns a Video Game store somewhere. Why else would someone pay all this money for the same game over and over again? Maybe he sells them on Amazon or Half.com or some shit...

Why don't you just file a complaint with ebay against him? Maybe you can convince them that he's shill bidding, since they should have a record of all the copies of that game that he's won already. Isn't it considered shilling if you intentionally drive up the price of an item over and over again like that?

I bet LazingBlazers got his copy while Henretta was sleeping or something. He used to go crazy over copies of Little Samson for a while too.. probably still does when he thinks about it.

It's not shill bidding if you pay for the item. He can buy as many copies as he damn well feels like.

The argument that he buys these to raise the price doesn't make sense. He'll have to sell them at some point (or else he simply "owns" x value in games, which doesn't really make sense). The total number of copies of MC doesn't change. The demand doesn't change (actually, the demand drops since he's the highest-value consumer and he won't be buying his own games). There's no concievable way to make money by hoarding games like this.

(Actually, a guy tried to "corner the market", as they say, in silver back in the 1970s. He must have spent billions. It didn't work.)

Lots of people buy & resell on ebay. Some have multiple accounts, some have stores outside of ebay. Things can be bought for trade. Maybe he's tiling his gaming room floor in them? LOL If you don't know the guy personally & don't know what he's doing with them, you have no way of knowing what he already has or still needs. Maybe HE sold some of the copies that have come up on ebay in the past year? Maybe he's traded to acquire rarer games like Sapphire or Darius Alpha, or even just for trade bait on some of the rarer US boxes?

The most recent two links show he missed out on a copy that ended on the 26th, and he bid higher & won on an auction that ended on the 31th. So nothing out of the ordinary in the last two auctions. And even if he has a copy there's no law that says he can't buy another. My advice would be to bid higher. Or maybe buy Japanese, it's under $200 for the Jap version, there was even a sealed copy up on ebay.uk a little while back. This game comes up alot.

The only bidders I have a problem with are the ones that work out all the side deals, when I have my eye & even my bids in on auctions that get ended earily, someone like bullseyescollectables guy I've seen him end several auctions early. Then all he's gonna do is relist the rares separately to milk them for all he can. :| That's the only sort of bidders I dislike. They don't play by the rules & are only looking for the quick buck. But just some dude that spends alot of money on ebay & may end up buying multiple copies of the same game, how can you dislike him? I guess you can dislike the fact he has money to bid so much, but that's more like resentment.

Andre is well known on ebay and this board. He tries to acquire every Magical Chase hucard possible. He must own around 16 of these.

It's fucking hoarders like that who are the worst kinds of bidders there are! What the hell does one guy need with 16 copies of the exact same game? We're not talking about some new Working Designs variation extravaganza here, this is just a clear case of one asshole fucking shit up for everyone else!

It's also fucking hoarders and overbidders like that who force the reasonable bidders to resort to making their offers for items outside of ebay, so they can actually get what they want for a reasonable price and avoid this bullshit!

This guy is a total moron.
He loses on a copy with manual at $280, yet wins a LOOSE one at $460.
I'm stunned.

Yeah, and apparently he sent the next highest bidder (I know mr.ti994a) a threatening email saying that he was going to report him to ebay for driving the price up. What an ass.

a few things:

1.) there is nothing wrong with making deals outside of eBay with sellers as long as you are not trying to make a deal on a game that is actually up for auction already. there are numerous times i will see somebody selling something like xbox cases or something, shoot them an e-mail, and buy from them without using an auction. I was actually offered Mortal Kombat 3 for Game Gear for $50, but it is from a guy who says he has 4, and I want to make sure that he actually sent the items out to the highest bidders before I send him my money, but it is a deal outside of eBay.

2.) i don't understand why this person wants so many copies, but he does. if i could afford it, i would buy as many as possible, wait until there are none on eBay, and start selling them. if you are the only one selling these, you will make money from them. others have said before, we don't know his intentions, so none of us can be pissed that he is buying them up. i used to have rivals on eBay all the time when I was trying to get VB games, but it comes with being on eBay.
