Does anyone know what the old hardback manuals are going for? All my other gaming friends have either grown up or moved away. I've held out as long as I could but I've given up hope, no one I know is interested in playing any more.

I don't need the money so I am looking for a price check. If these have any decent value I would probably sell them (although shipping will be high I'm sure), but if their value is less than what I paid new for them way back when I'll probably just box them back up and put them out in the garage.

Orange Spine:
Dungeon Master's Guide
Legends & Lore
Monster Manual
Monster Manual II (2 Copies)
Oriental Adventures
Player's Handbook
Unearthed Arcana (2 Copies)

Original Artwork:
Player's Handbook
Dungeon Master's Guide
Deities & Demigods

I only played AD&D a few times while I was growing up but I became addicted to reading through the Monster Manuals :)

When I couldn't find my twenty year old copies last year, I bought some near mint ones for about $5 each on eBay or Amazon. So I think particular titles are not very rare but some of your others might be, probably not, it was pretty popular and widely distributed.

Check your Deities and Demigods NOW. If there is a section detailing the Elder Gods and great old Ones from the Cthulhu Mythos, you've got yourself a collectible worth some scratch! Quick info: When the Deities and Demigod was first released, they created a section based on these Lovecraftian god-like beings, little knowing that the characters were owned jointly by the Lovecraft and Howard (Conan the Barbarian) estates. So they had to pull 'em and reprint them without that section.

Remember what happened with Jungle King, the Burroughs estate, and the later-released Jungle Hunt? Kinda the same thing.

EDIT: Eh, my half-assed info was half-assed correct. Here's the full CORRECT story:

The Unearthed Arcana used to sell for a good $30 or so, but with the many updates to the game, demand has lessened somewhat. As for the Deities and Demigods, if it has Cthulu Mythos and Elric of Melnibone stuff it's worth at least $30-50 in decent condition and up to $100+ if it's mint :) Then all you have to do is find a seller. I sold mine too cheap (about $30) before I knew that :(

Sniderman's link DOES lead to a quasi-updated price list:
http://www.acaeum.com/DDIndexes/Rulebooks.html

Depending on condition the core rule books (DMG & PHB) usually don't go for much- $10 to $15 I've seen at most when I went looking for a replacement DMG (which I think I paid $12 w/ shipping).

Thanks so much for the links and info everyone.

My Deities and Demigods manual is 3rd edition, the one that says "seventeen pantheons" on the back but only contains fifteen chapters, with the Cthulu stuff missing.

Seems to be my luck with collecting. Most of what I buy goes down instead of up in value, haha. That's okay, they're not taking up any space in the closet and who knows, I may find some people to game with again some day.

Again, thanks everyone.

What about boxed basic rules? I have all of them, including the immortals, which I believe were a relatively short print run that was discontinued. All from the orange spine AD&D era I believe, sometime in the 80's or 90's.

Hmmm...welll, for what it's worth (heh), I sold a complete Boxed Basic D&D set (red boxed edition complete with cheap dice you had to color with a crayon) for about $35 two years ago.

I have all five of those too, but I distinctly remember throwing the boxes away a few years ago. Probably about five minutes before eBay went online, figuring my luck.
