Sup everyone i'm new to the boards and found this site after making an amazing find and looking up prices for the games I just bought.

The story,

As most Floridians know theres this place called the Swap Shop which is a huge flea market where you can find just about any game, system, and accessory imaginable. This is the place I goto to find the best deals and they sure do and I was amazed when I got home to find that I spent the best $10 ever. There was this man selling a box of Sega CD games, since I've never owned a Sega CD system or ever read up on the games I knew nothing of their value but still bought the box with the games in it anyways. The following games were in the box (lucky, lucky, lucky! Games were mint!)

-Lunar Eternal Blue
-Lunar The Silver Star
-Snatched
-Vay
-Robo Aleste (2!)
-Dark Wizard
-Popful Mail
-Microcosm
(and other non-sega cd: Virtua Fighter-Saturn and Hang ON & Safari Hunt)

I just got these this morning and was amazed at how much of an investment that $10 was. Everyone should keep their eyes wide opened when looking for deals like this at flea markets. This is like a 1/100 chance. Just wanted to share this story with you peeps.

Snatcher will make it worth the cost of getting a SegaCD unit to play it alone. All the RPGs on your list are very good too. An excellent (and cost-effective!) way to start a SegaCD collection!

Congrats!

Thats an awesome deal. You basically have 2 of the rarest games for the system there. Snatcher can bring $100 and up by itself.
Also, welcome to boards, and enjoy your stay. :)

Sounds like Nirvana to me. Kind of makes me wish I hadn't passed up my chance to go to Sebring for Christmas.

Thx for the welcome. I need to get a Sega CD because the games look so good and I'm sure i'll be able to find one easily. Ill try to see if I can get some pictures using my scanner since I don't have a digital camera. I'm also trying to start a sega saturn collection but I only have Virtua Fighter and havnt been able to find anything else! Every flea market I goto I see games for every system even the imports but never a sega saturn game which I don't understand.

I feel ya, bud. Saturn is one of my favorite systems recently, but they never have any games around here.

Florida must be the retro gaming capital of the world. Do enough searching on Ebay and other online outlets, and you will soon discover that everything is in Florida. I'm not sure how it all ends up there, but if you're searching for factory sealed copies of old games, chances are you'll find them in Florida before you find them anywhere else, no matter how ancient they are. It's really weird. I think maybe they're fishing them out of the Bermuda Triangle or something, because it's all somewhere in Florida, no matter how rare it is.

Is he referring to the huge swap meet in Orlando? If so, I wouldnt doubt him finding some really great stuff there. When I lived there in 1992, we used to hit that swap meet almost weekly and usually bought some goodies. Hell, my 2nd Odyssey2 system was purchased there with several games and a voice unit (cant remember the price, but I think it was under $20).
I'd like to see pix of these games, though, to either cement him as a lucky sob or to assure us he's full o'shit. Either way, welcome to the boards and happy gaming!

Thx for the welcome. I need to get a Sega CD because the games look so good and I'm sure i'll be able to find one easily.

In the meantime, why not try downloading a Sega Genesis emulator like Gens? Several of them include support for Sega CD games. I've got a copy of Wonderdog at home, and it works beautifully on Gens.
You'll need to find both the emulator and the Sega CD BIOS file to run the games on your computer. Luckily, you'll find them both at this address:

Uh yea ........

You want rare finds , don't look here unless you plan on looking and looking and looking.

The only thing our flea markets and Goodwills have are SMB/Duck hunt carts. Wait a minute they don't even have those. LOL
