I'm dabbling with a script.

What do you think? Would something like this be useful?

Could be. Does it retrive the highest priced items from a search? (or a the lowest priced new listed items for the cheap gifts part)

Sure, it would be cool to list arcade machines too if thats possible.

It needs some work but before I get into it I'd just like to hear if the "concept" is good.

The links will probably not work for you but for the "concept" assume they would take you to the auction.

i think the idea is awesome. seems like it would be a hassle to update with new auctions always popping up though. are you writing a script that will update it automatically? that would be cool as long as it keeps the items in the lists accurate and not having stuff like "omg uper rare smbdh nintendo!!" in the list. :)

The script updates the auctions automatically. Pretty much anything you could search on can be used as a box of its own, I just chose a few of the ones I use on the front page at the DP site for this test.

Thats an awesome idea, but i think that you should also include how many bids are on the item. I always like to judge how many people are watching it by number of bids.

Free advertising never hurt anyone and I'm sure the sellers of the featured auctions will love it.

I wouldn't expect buyers to find anything reasonably priced there though since every collector around will be aware of it.

Would this be replacing the eBay Assistant?

Great idea, but must you use qksrv?

Netscape does not like....

*edit*

Nor does IE.... :hmm:

Could this be because of Earthlink?

While I'm not the Ebay fiend I once was, I think even I could get some use out of this. Are you considering adding these to the system profile pages, perhaps?

I think its a great idea, I already have some similar searches on the myebay "favorites" page, but to have it in one spot, thats handy!! nice!
