I saw one at Cinciclassic this weekend.

It was a Test Cart but they guy said it was a t-bar proto.
Do all Intellivision protos look like this?

He also said his cart was listed in the DP guide at rarity 8 worth 100 bucks. Are these that common? Seems pretty cool to me. I don't collect for Intellivision but I'd pick one up for that price.

No, not all Intellivision protos look like that. Activision protos for instance are housed in normal cartridge cases, but all the Mattel and Imagic protos I've see are T-Cards.

T-Cards are VERY rare (yes rarer than NES protos). I've only seen maybe 10, and they were all in the hands of long time Intellivision collectors. The last one I saw was on Ebay (the only time I've seen one on Ebay mind you), and it went for $600+.

Glad to read that, guys, because I got one of them on ebay for only $30 last year. The seller didn't know what this was, hence the price (I had a similar experience with 6 Atari 2600 EPROM boards, including a Rubik's Cube prototype). :P :P :P

What I got is a T-card version of the rare 1982 Intl Demo cartridge. I opened it: it contains 6 EPROMs. There are also some DIP-switches, probably to configure the memory mapping and address decoding circuitry.

Anyhow, I'd be glad to know what titles are known to exist in T-card format ! It's not like those Lab Loanders we always see on ebay !

Sean Kelly would be the person to ask about that. I've seen Truckin', Swords and Serpents, and another Imagic title (White Water maybe?). I know Sean has a couple of Mattel titles.

Are those 2600 protos you got any different from the final versions? If so can you let me know for my page?

Sean Kelly....

He was the first person to who I asked the question.
His answer was "I've seen a couple, it's just a T-Card...".

Seeing eBay prices, I'll put no comments to this reply.

The Imagic ones I mentioned were owned by one of the bigger Intellivision collectors (INTVman maybe?). He might be another person to ask. They were in the CGE museum, so I'm sure his name is listed somewhere.
