Its already been discussed here that Square / Enix will be re-releasing Final Fantasy Anthology, Final Fantasy Chronicles, Vagrant Story and Xenogears. But what I just read in the latest Game Informer that I didn't know was that they'll all be released at $20 each. @_@
Look out for the mass rush on ebay now to sell all those extra copies that everyones been holding on to. :P

I'd love to see a Dragon Warrior Anthology... but without stupid upgrades. I want an old school version of Dragon Warrior 3 without having to worry about my NES cart's battery... And without having to use the ROMZZZ.

Nuh-uh. They did release it for the GBC, but with the afore-mentioned "stupid upgrades". Stuff like a new character class or two, a new minigame (Parchisi tracks), an action button, and some other things. I don't know about the two other Dragon Warriors they ported...I think they were pretty much straight, except for the banking system.

Ebay isn't the only place affected by these re-releases. EBgames has boosted the price of a used Xenogears up to $64.99, and I think that second-hand copies of Anthology and Chronicles have received the same increase. Naturally, most of the employees tell interested customers about the upcoming $20 versions, but it doesn't dissuade everyone.

Are you shitting me? $65 a pop, USED? That's absolutely ridiculous.... hell, just this summer I was able to find all 3 of those games new at the EBgames down the street. Insane.

I do need a new copy of Chronicles though since the cover is cracked on my case (got it this way from a friend).

Seconded.
I too am shocked that EB is charging $65 for used copies of these games when the new ones at $20 are on the way. They might as well bite the bullet and take the loss. That's what you get for being exorbitant. :D
IIRC, Gamestop saw the above titles drop to $30 used, with the exception of Xenogears(I think).
Want a rare PSX RPG? Go find Suikoden II.

All that talk about Dragon Warrior brings back memories. Dragon warrior was the first RPG i ever played. I got my copy because it was free when you subscribed to Nintendo Power.
Was this anyone elses first Rpg?

Technically, yes (In fact, I was playing the copy that my half sister got with NP, and I recently found the envelope with all of the maps/posters/manuals/letter from Nintendo for DW 1 and some stuff for 2 and I'm guessing it may have some value now), but I consider Mario RPG to be my first RPG, because I was so young when I played DW that I didn't understand what I was doing at all.

Yeah, Dragon Warrior was my first RPG for a console (I allready had experience with PC ones). I played through it and beat it and loved it. And this was a genre I really did'nt think at the time (I was only 13) I was going to like. But a year later when Final Fantasy came out, I got that based on my experience with DW and loved that one even more.
I happened to really LIKE the remakes of 1-3 on the GBC. Too bad 4 got axed for a US release. :angry: That was always my favoirte one. I've played some of translated 5 and 6, and tried 7, but the games just don't do anything for me now. I've been spoiled by FF and other RPG's that are wonderfull in story and action and gameplay and the 'classic' feel of DW 7 just did nothing at all for me.

Just for reference, a used Xenogears is also $29.99 used.
