Hey, just wondering if anyone knew how to install these 2 little metal parts that came with a Sega CD I won recently.
It's not the big piece that goes on the bottom of the Genny, but 2 smaller parts that go inside the "cartridge" looking part that plugs into the Sega CD.
I just dont know how to get them in correctly. Hell I don't even know what they do :embarrassed:
Any help would be great, thanks!

actually those sound like the metal parts used when installing the 32X. I don't think you need anything for the cartridge slot if you're just hooking a Sega CD to a Genesis.
heck, you don't REALLY need them to hook up the 32X either. from what I understand they just give the 32X a firmer connection to the cartridge slot. maybe they do the same on the Sega CD. I've got both versions of the Sega CD and neither have those metal parts. Both work fine. I'd hang on to them though.

They did look alot like the 32X parts, but I dont think that's it.
They were installed on a Genny 1... but I took them out to put them in a Genny 2 and I forgot how they went in :(
I wasn't talking about the cartridge slot, I ment the odd part on the side that plugs into the Sega CD, just had a hard time describing it. :(

they might be for the same purpose though.

I think the two smaller pieces clip into the bay of the Genesis (that was opened for the expansion slot to be exposed). I never got metal plates with mine but sure would like to have them. Care to swap them for the Sega CD2 expansion piece to accomodate a Genny 1? :P Anyone?

Can you post a picture? Which version of Sega CD are you using?
