One of the designers from Daraku Tenshi- The Fallen Angels would later go on to work for SNK. This would explain why Cool and Harry Ness are so similar to K' and Maxima. Of course, I got this tidbit of info from the Gameroom Blitz. :D

I've compared all fighters from FA to these SNK characters:

Cool: K' (obviously, though, as Jess said, those feathers also allude to Krizalid)
Harry Ness: Maxima (also obvious, including the armaments in the wrists)
Haiji Mibu: Ralf Jones (Jess also compared the two, but his face reminds me also of K')
Yuiran: King (they both come off as somewhat masculine, and they both work at restaurants... or bars, as the case may warrant)
Torao Onigawara: Takuma Sakazaki (middle-aged karate master... the only difference between them is their hygiene)
Yuiren: Chizuru Kagura... (that's the best I could come up with as far as clothing goes, but HIS femininity sorta reminds me of Chris...)
Taro: ... Earthquake and Gandara from Samurai Shodown (HUGE longshot, not sure if I could do better)
Ruccio Roche: Freeman (they don't say too much, they're both creepy, killing is their pasttime... hell, for all I know, Roche is the bastard son of Freeman)
Trigger: Krizalid (if that giant coat had feathers, there's your similarity right there)
Carlos: Geese Howard + Haohmaru (or would Kain R. Heinlein be a better choice... anyway, the fact goes that he's f**king cheap!)

Any revisions I can make to these comparisons? Oh, and most of the credit of this thread goes to ManekiNeko, of course. :D

I'm pleasantly surprised that there are still people out there playing this game! I'd recommend The Fallen Angels to anyone who loves one-on-one fighting games... its subdued colors and gritty storyline are a refreshing change of pace from Capcom's bright, flashy, and in your face fighters.

Anyway, Sotenga got his information from this section of my web site:

Indeed. Did you know I visit your site every day now? :)

Anyway, let me just make a small submission to that FAQ... Haiji has this one move that you're missing. It's a power uppercut, and if it connects, the opponent is left hanging off his fist for a second before falling to the ground. It is performed like your basic Shoryuken: Forward, down, down/forward, punch. And it is a great game. Glad I stumbled across the Gameroom Blitz, or I'd have never known this game existed! Psikyo? Making a fighting game? Unlikely, but hey, it works! :D

Oh, and what do you think of my comparisons? I'm really sure there's someone I can better compare Taro to... :?

Damn, just read that article and since I'm in full-on fighting game mode, I need to play this! I've never seen it in arcades, where would be my best shot to find this? JAMMA compatible perhaps?

My best advice would be to try it on MAME, the arcade machine emulator. It's going to be brutally difficult to find otherwise.
