I played the Dragon Quest VIII demo again and now can finally say I finished it. Geyser was no match for my awesome level 7 characters. LOL I'm going to fool around with it a little more tonight, exploring more of the town and the countryside and seeing what I may have missed. I'm really getting excited for this game; suddenly Nov. 22 seems so far away!

I recently started a second season (or is it a third?) of MVP Baseball 2004 on my GameCube. I have enough Hall of Famers to start at each position now that I've unlocked catcher Roy Campanella though I still start a few active players now and then. For instance, in the game I just finished, I had Jason Kendall at catcher. But check the rest of the line-up...Willie Stargell, Babe Ruth, Mike Schmidt, Honus Wagner, Joe Morgan, I forget the name of my 1B but he's anothe big home run guy and I forget who I had at CF...might've been Jason Bay, an active Pirate. My pitcher was Walter Johnson. In the top of the 9th, the Mets take a 5-4 lead so I have current Pirates OF Tike Redman pinch-hit to start the bottom of the ninth and he gets a single. Roy Campanella then pinch-hits and slams a homer to end the game and the Pirates win 5-4 and everyone goes home happy...well, not the Mets. A goofy glitch in the play-by-play, though. At the end, despite the Mets scoring 4 runs on 9 hits, the announcer congratulate the Pirates on throwing a no-hitter! Weird...it's not the first time this has happened, either. I still need to unlock a center-fielder...

Yep....I bought the Doom 3 Resurrection Of Evil expansion pack for the Xbox last night. Man, I loved the Limited Edition release and had no clue that they were releasing the expansion for the console. Now you get more in the extras department. Doom 1 and 2 AND the master levels for Doom 2. The double shotgun is back for Doom 3, and I like the way your pistol now doubles as your flashlight. Man, I'm happy!! :D
On a softer note, I also bought the new Frogger Helmet Chaos for my PSP. It ain't kiddie, it ain't "easy" and I'm stuck. Haven't been stuck in a game for ages....and it had to be a Frogger game when it happened. LOL

I have been playing a few games lately.
Resident evil 2 is bringing a few strains on the sleeping habit,
Bubble Bobble- Old and New is addictive. 'Nuff said.
Donkey Kong Country 2 is as fun as I remember it to be and I gave Poke'mon Emerald a restart yesterday. Yep, all of this whilst doing my trial exams for year 10. I never study..

This arrived in the post yesterday and is as brilliant as everything I've heard of it. Some great music - stories that range from mad sci-fi to really funny to a really touching love story. The style of the game is great, I just wish I could read Japanese to get more out of the stories - you can follow them anyway. For those that don't know, this is a rhythm-action game and the touchscreen really adds to it. I completed easy mode (i think there are 14 levels) and look forward to normal mode.

Woo! Completed normal mode. This game gets seriously challenging - the last level is extremely hard. Also did the first song on the unlocked hard mode. This game is one of my favourite DS games now I think.

Did 3 more levels on hard. This leaves 11 more songs to do on hard before moving on to the insane difficulty setting. Somehow I don't think I will ever be able to do Ready Steady Go on hard though. It took days to beat on normal, although now I can do it easily so everything can change
Drill demo - DS
I'm really bad at this. Can almost beat the boss but not quite. I don't even think I need the full game when they release it. Maybe I'll be better at shoot-em-ups then. Played quite a lot of it and the weapon system is interesting. Holding A is a normal fire. Tapping A does a wide shot. B is the Drill of the title, a really powerful moves that combos opponents but whose reach decreases with time and you move slower while holding it. Holding A+B together does the drill but now it increases it back in length so you can use it as a normal drill. This is really slow in increasing and you can't move when doing this. So overall you have to keep balancing the drill and the drill increase move to get maximum firepower and also when you have a good combo, enemy bullets turn into coins.

I have not had much in time in the last several months to play many games at all, but I bought a DS last weekend and I am ADDICTED to this thing. I bought Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow and Trauma Center with the system, and I picked up Phoenix Wright this weekend, and I am having a blast with all three games. I don't know how I fought off buying a DS for so long.....now that I have one, I can't stop playing it. I'm definitely picking up Advance Wars: DS, Wario Ware Touched, Metroid Pinball, and Mario Kart soon, and I'm sure there will be tons more to get.
I've also been messing around with the original Advance Wars, continuing my franchise in All Star Baseball 2004 for PS2, and my buddies and I still play Dusty Diamond for the NES whenever we get the chance.

Continued playing Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Lockdown tonight...I left off on a Sniper mission..Oh I hate them in this game).....One of my men on the ground keeps getting killed by this invisible enemy and then mission failed.
I must of did this part 10 over with no success..I can't pass it...I was so pissed at this stupid sniper part in the game that I was ready to take the disc out back tonight and fling it very far down the street(a first for me)I love the Tom Clancy games but this XBOX title I'm not fond of.. :/
So I shelf it...
And start playing Brothers in Arms: Earned in Blood..
Now this is what I like..Big Smile on my face as the game starts..
I start playing:
Skirmish Objective
Mission 1 Team German...I needed to refresh myself with the controls plus I couldn't understand shit the Germans were saying..so that didn't help.
I get a hang of it quick get killed a few times making it to the end of the objective and all my men get killed by rushing American Soldiers.
I did the final part over several times until I was able to escape the onslaught, but all my soldiers were killed.
I took my time and stuck up on each enemy and killed them, winning the mission...It was hard but GREAT!!
Next..
Skirmish Objective
Mission 1
Team America:
The start of this mission opened up to a huge German Enemy Bunker area that blew my mind..The first thing I said was Holy Shit!!!!
This mission took a long time to finish and a lot of strategy...but it ROCKED!!

At the moment:
Gamecube - Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes
Just got to the torture scene. I decided to submit to the torture so I would unlock the "stealth camo" and make any future replays really easy.
PC - F.E.A.R.
This game looks quite amazing. The graphics are superb and the enviornments are amazing. The firefights are frantic and QUITE loud and there's some good scares stuck in every once in a while.
PC - Serious Sam II
Looks amazing and runs really damn smooth. It's some great shoot em up action and the enemy design is quite interesting, but I don't like it as much as the first installment. The thing that really turns me off is the speed of Sam. He just seems to run and jump EXTREMELY slow compared to the previous game.
Got quite a few sitting in the pipeline...works out since I'm damn near flat broke for some time ;D.

Frogger (PSP)
FEAR (PC)
Played Need For Speed Rivals for the entire evening last night and have my cars almost fully pimped. Every stat is at 100% right now, but you can go beyond 100%. It's too bad that the game is so difficult until you get to this point. These PSP developers need to take a step back on their games. They're adding console difficulty to what should be an easier version on a handheld system, just because the PSP can handle it.

Played MoCap boxing today. Got some stress relief.
I'm still having a good old time playing Doom 64.
Now that I have a garage full of completely pimped cars to choose from, I've become obsessed with Need For Speed Underground Rivals on my PSP. It takes SO long to acquire a truly competitive car, but once you do, the game gets far more enjoyable. Try the Neon and the Miata. These are two starter cars that surpass the others once they're fully pimped. Deadly combo in the relay mode.
I also found that the D-pad works far better than the thumbstick in this game, especially for the more difficult later races. It's almost as if they threw the analog in as an afterthought.

Finally completed the Drill demo on the Dreamcast then tried repeatedly to finish the last level of Space Channel 5. I am getting around 96% ratings but don't know why I am failing. Its on the part I'm guessing is right at the end where you defeat the boss who is TV screens in a robot type person thing and then she says direct all your energy to the mast and there is a simple shoot, shoot, shoot, i do it and I must mistime the last shot or something because then it always fails. hmm, one to try again tomorrow
