Just a question on the
I read the previous post about the PS 2 Network Adapter and SylentWulf stated he received his Everquest Beta Test DVD. I searched in Yahoo and found the registration area and submitted my application. I never did a beta test before, but man I would love to get in on this one. Anyone else sign up and get accepted? Sylentwulf when did you sign up and how long did it take to get the DVD ?

I signed up too but haven't gotten one yet. That might have something to do with me being a member of the media though... :(

Isn't it a bit late to sign up? I thought the beta testing was supposed to start in September.

yes it did start in Sept. So I am late. I wish I knew earlier. The option to join is still on their website and the testing is in like 4 phases , so maybe throught he process they wll add new testers. Either way I hope to somehow slip in.

This is a Beta Test for a PS2 version based on the PC original.

It took a LONG time to get the DVD, they approved me in one day, but I've beta tested EQ on the PC, and asherons call, also played ultima online :)

Side note, I don't think I'm gonna play it much. For the first time ever I'm gonna agree with Raedon, Online games should stick to the PC, MMORPG's anyways. Sports games will be great on the console, but not RPG's...

I am not sure I agree 100% on that. I think MMORG's can exist successfully on consoles. However, it remains to be seen if a game the size of everquest will be successful.

I guess through the agreement of being a tester you cannot give a review, but I am curious on your impressions of the game once you get your password straightened out.

Well, my one big problem with console RPG's online, is that a keyboard isn't required. I know on asherons call I used pretty much EVERY button on the keyboard, PLUS some ctl- and alt- combo buttons. Squeezing that into a controller is just DUMB. and once you add they keyboard, it's just easier and better on a computer... Especially the updates and patches, I still don't understand how Sony is going to handle that.

I'm pretty sure Sony doesn't know either..

I beta tested two versions of UO (T2A and Third Dawn), as well as Warcraft III and didn't get accepted. Like I said, I think it's because I checked that I'm a member of the media (stupid honesty)...

You can send it to me if you don't think you'll play it much...
