Wow. how in the hell do you enforce this? What's next? Charging player-killers with virtual murder?

As moronic as it sounds now this is good in that it sets precedent for later, more important cases. The court recognized the time and effort involved in these virtual assets that I'm sure the guy could have sold for real money to interested parties outside of the game.

I don't think this is stupid at all, alot of mmorpg companies do not apply the proper time and effort into running these, and some have had wide open security holes, allowing for users cc numbers to be stolen among other things. If I spend hundreds of hours, not to mention the monthly fee to maintain and equip a charecter, and a company allows some hacker to steal my account because they have lax security on their end. Well then they deserve to lose some money to prove a point, and get them to wake up.
