View Full Version : I think this was a pretty good find, if I say so myself...

For $20 I got an N64 (black) with hookups, 2 controllers (one has a somewhat loose stick), Golden Eye boxed, and just the carts of War Gods, Banjo Kazooie, Quake, Donkey Kong 64, South Park, and a copy of Duke Nukem 64 which he calimed wasn't working, but as usual a little alcohol fixed that up.

Funniest part is I picked this up on a complete whim. Since the N64 debut I've only played it twice. First time I played Shadows Of The Empire for about 5 minutes before giving up in frustration, and the other time was playing LoZ: Ocarina Of Time, and just gave up after about an hour cause I just never "got into" it.

So far I must say, aside from adjusting to the controller I'm in love with Quake, so far it's carbon copy of the PC version (except a few lighting issues). Banjo Kazooie is obviosuly aimed at a younger audience but it does have it's moments, and there's no denying it's fun. War God is pretty corny, some characaters seem to move unnessecarily slow making them just hard to play with... South Park is pretty asanine, fun to take out maybe once in a while when the biddies are over and we want a cheap laugh. DK 64 is as of yet unplayed becuase the dude said he loaned the RAM upgrade to a friend when he quit usin it and then never got it back.

Not a bad find at all. I too picked up an N64 today (mostly so I could play the boxed Ogre Battle 64 I got earlier this week for $5.95 :)). Mine already had the RAM upgrade in it and cost me $26 total for a very nice clean N64 with one controller and the hook ups, so comparatively you did well. Enjoy it!

That's a really good deal. A few weeks ago, I got the following at a yard sale for $45.

Atomic Purple Set - gray and clear purple controllers (complete w/instructions, no box)
Namco Museum 64 (sealed)
Xena: Warrior Princess (complete)
LOZ: Ocarina of Time (complete, gray cart)
Mario Kart 64 (loose w/manual)
Goldeneye (loose w/manual)
Madden 64 (loose)
Star Wars Episode 1 Racer (loose)
Official Memory Card (sealed)
Official Carrying Case

All in all, I'd have to say you did better. I tip my hat to you.

The great titles for the 64 are few and far between, but you can't go wrong with a console that's home to the best console game ever made : Super Mario 64. Aside from that, keep an eye out for WaveRace, the two Zeldas, Blast Corps, Rayman 2 and Space Station Silicon Valley.

Nice Find.

I bought one 2 weeks ago from a thrift store for $30
It had Super Mario 64 and Harvest Moon......
I sold Harvest Moon on Ebay for $49.99 so basically I got a free system... 8-)
