I'm no Neo Geo expert but I think the early stuff saw retail action, up to a point where sales were sagging so it became a strictly mail-order thing.
Wish I could see that price tag better. Is it saying $74.99?

Oh yeah! When I used to work at Blockbuster, I looked up Neo Geo in the system and found tons of games and prices.

Yeah, there was a time when Macy's had all kinds of crazy game things, ESPECIALLY the massively expensive systems. Back when the 3DO and CD-i were new, Macy's was the one pushing them the hardest. I remember going to check out the stuff while my mom was shopping. One time they even had a 3DO representative there. My impressions at the time were that the CD-i was a giant pile of horse shit (it had a golf game on display and the controller was fucked up) and the 3DO was massively disappointing as well. 3D shit just looked ugly back then. I got to play a 3DO a lot at my friend's house though and he wound up with some decent games.
So, yeah, Macy's, they sold games right until that point and then they got out of the business. Probably because the systems they were focused on were flops. My store never had Neo-Geo stuff when I went in, but I can see that, definitely.
