well, before i delete the email. I guess I should ask everybody on here incase somebody knows something that I don't.
I got an email from ebay and it was "inviting" me to become a power seller? I have positive feedback of 122 LOL , so anyways....whatever, maybe they do this earlier than I thought. So, should I do it. I can't seem to find anything bad about it but i'm sure there could be all sorts of stuff i'm overlooking. Thanks to everybody in advance!

It has to do with the amount of money made by selling per month, not the number of feedback. If you do it, I would just make sure you go through the main ebay page and not through an email link in case it's a scam. I dont know whether to recommend you become one or not, I dont know enough about it.

ya, I noticed I did pull in some big figures over the last month or two LOL
Thanks for the help though, anybody know whether it's a good idea then?

I'm a Power Seller.
I've been up to their highest tier. Where you get 24/7 phone support.
That was fun. I got to report auctions over the phone and they were pulled almost immediately. LOL
I haven't been selling as much lately so I'm just a Bronze now and I only get 24/7 e-mail support , but they still pull every auction I report.
Also it seems as if I get more sells with the Power Seller icon than I did without it. :hmm:
There's really no downside. Also you get cashback on your listing fees as a power seller. I think 1% or something like that.

Yes, you get 1% back on listing fee's, IF you have them auto-paid each month (but the thought of paying $1,300 all at once each month scares me) AND, if I pay my fee's with my paypal credit card, I get 3% back instead. Ebay shooting itself in the foot there :)

3%? Don't you mean 1.5%, It's still 1.5% even if you pay it in 2 payments of 650... God damnit, I never thought of that though, I love my paypal card,, I think i'll be cancelling directpay today

Is it 1.5%? Oh yeah that's right, Paypal FEE'S are 3% :) Still, 1.% is better than 1% :)
I suppose you COULD directpay with your paypal card for 2.5% total, but I DON'T like having $1500+ in my paypal account, and then taken out all at once, I usually pay 3-4 times per month, never let it get over $400.

Hmmm... Some Powersellers just have that Rep for a Really Bitchy Attitude and no time. When you have a bad experience with a PS, you think they're all evil... (I never had this experience with one, luckily the ones I've bought from and sold to have been great!) I Wouldn't make the mark for the lowest level, I sell about $1000 Per 2 Months. Close, But not Close Enough LOL

do you have to upkeep the status by selling a certain amount? So, in other words, can you be stripped of your title.......If it's possible, that will happen. I sold $3000 in the past month but probably won't make $1000 the next couple unless I get some goods to sell. I'm fresh out LOL

i perfer power sellers, but when that bitch sent me a hacked boot mvs cart, Ebay did nothing for me, not even a return in my email, for me loosing my money on a nonworking bootleg, and i would think it's all because the bitch is a powerseller, and pulls in some money for ebay that i cannot touch.

that really sucks, was it credit card or balance payment? I would think you should be able to call your CC company and get it straightened out.

Paypal doesn't give a damn if you're a powerseller. If a new user puts delivery confirmation on a box of kleenex, and said it was $500 worth of electronics, just the fact that it was a trackable delivery, paypal is happy and will not do anything.
If applicable, your credit card company can get your money back.

So then how would you recommend that a person pay for a high priced item so that they're properly protected?

I thought he covered that by saying paypal won't do anything, but your CC company will......in some cases(I would think more than not, but who knows....)

That's what I thought I heard, but that basically means that you have absolutely no protection if you are paying with existing Paypal funds and not a credit card. That makes me want to avoid purchasing high ticket items at all with Paypal.

ya know i really didn't mean to say paypal, i ment ebay. paypal had nothing to do with it, but it was stuck in my head for some reason.
