I would like to replace the stickers on the Coleco Tabletops. Is there a template on the net that I could just print on sticker paper? Like they sell for full size arcades. This should be small enough to handle on my home printer.

If not, do you have any other suggestions on how I might get one?

That's a great idea...kind of like the vectrex and INTV and coleco overlays.

I could use some of these myself.

we just need someone with good stickers to make a good scan...

from that I could photoshop a template, and then anyone could just print it from their home printers.

The only problem is that some of the hardcore collectors would worry that restoration challenges the eBay market. LOL

Anyone want to help?

I have all of the Coleco tabletop machines, most of them with decent stickers, and even the ones I have that suffer from "actiplaque" (or the non-name-brand equivalent LOL ) I can freshen up in Paint Shop Pro and repost at a decent resolution.

Here's the catch: I'm in the middle of moving, so it'll be January, probably late January, before I can do this. But I'll be more than happy to do this when I get settled in. Just make sure you remind me. :)

wow! That's really good.

Can any of the Mods help us out? Where are the hardcore collectors when you need them? :)

I only have Frogger, and only the left side and top is not badly sun bleached. I may be able to get access to a scanner though, if it helps. :)

I purchased a Coleco restoration CD off ebay about 5 months ago. It was about $9 and well worth it. I printed Galaxian art onto photo paper and simply glued the art right over top of the old art on my tabletop. Looks gorgeous unless you really examine it up close and notice around the sides that there are two layers.

I would simply send you the files but the author included this copyright notice off the CD:
"All information found on this cd is copywritten and owned by 4144life.
Any one who purchases this cd from me may not resell it. In any way shape or form. "

I don't know how exactly you can copyright someone else's artwork, but whatever; I thought $9 was a fair price to save me the trouble of getting the art elsewhere. Maybe this will at least give you a lead on who to get the artwork from.

BTW one of the Galaxian side art stickers is reversed (not the logo, but the drawing of the space ships). If you actually go to use it, be sure to flip it
before you print it!

Well, you better not 're-sell' it then.

Ah..hah..Good question...

If you look at the first Frogger I bought.. I had to remake a top sticker for it...

http://www.imagemagician.org/images/cokegirl/99437.jpg

I didn't really know the size so I took a guess...

I took pictures of the sides of the games to see if I could size them right & print them out..
I couldn't do it with a Digi Camera..
Then I stuck the whole thing in the Scanner and it came out nice..
Basically I was just going to put the frog on the top of the game without the black background..
(I think there is a version without the black background.)
Then looking around I found a very thin piece of black plastic and cut that to the size of the top & added the frog..

Then I got another Frogger...and I want to copy the frog on it to redo the other..

See the difference.......

I basically could scan most of the Tabletops I have..The DKs stickers aren't in mint condition so maybe if someone with a mint DK + others could scan them they could be made..

This would be an awesome thing to have..(templates etc..

I know a guy who collects every Handheld/Tabletop game..
He was going to do scan the Handheld/Tabletop stickers of these and others and have sticker sets made out to sell..
But after he saw the cost involved it wasn't worth it.

I collect Handheld/Tabletops too..these are just what I can get on the Table..(Mu sons Mini Arcade)
The only other Tabletop game that I have with a big enough sticker is the Zaxxons I have or maybe the front of the Stargate

This is really good info, but about the restoration CD... I can understand someone wanting credit for his or her work. But a copyright? That's like copyrighting a CDR of MP3s I downloaded for free.

This really should be a collector resource available to all. Just my humble opinion.

His CD is no longer on ebay. Does he have a website or something?

Dunno, bought mine off ebay. Scan the tabletops section of the DP ebay assistant for a couple weeks, he should pop up again. If not send me a PM.
