Maybe but some have positive feedback from the sales, so people are paying. Game prices gan vary greatly. Hell I was trying to get rid of some games cheap.

I wouldn't say Genesis gets out of hand yet. But hell I always have my 2 disc genny cd's for my dreamcast if all else fails. But I got most of mine cheap, and I got all the ps fo rless than 40 complete. I wish I had got the last lot though:)

I wish the Genesis auctions would start going nuts like the SNES auctions! I've never understood why the SNES is so collectible while the Genesis isn't. They're both from the same time period, so why would one be more sought after than the other? The only thing that I can figure is most people are like me. They already have all the Genesis games because that's what they were collecting for back in the day, and now they're trying to complete their SNES collections because they wouldn't even have a SNES in their home until DKC.

And SNES "holds more value" because Gamestop/Funco thinks it does. Maybe that's it. I dunno. Why do you think me, a certified Nintendo idiot, is doing Genesis now instead of SNES? Because it's so crazy cheaper. My average Genny at-least-boxed price is $2.50-$3, even a little less. SNES would be probably twice that!

TJ&E1 is absolutely the Genesis R@REZ0R game for now. Every idiot touts it as rare, when it's CLEARLY not, considering there've been like, 20 auctions for it in completeds, and yet a game like Crossfire or Aero 2 is lucky to show its face. Typical eBay mentality.

Dave, I absolutely agree with you. I mentioned this a few times before with very limited respones that genesis games were a STEAL at their going prices and it was time to start collecting them before the market explodes, I figured this was going to happen very soon and I guess it is officially starting now. Considering the library of genesis titles is comparable in size only to NES and SNES, it is the next popular choice for collecting for a certain system.

This isn't anywhere near the tip though. Games will go up even more than this in near future, you can bank on it. There are still many places selling genesis title for cheap prices, so my suggestion to everyone out there is start buying now if you want to collect genesis, it will only go up from here.

BTW Dave, how close are you to completing your set?? Drop me a PM, I am sure I can help you out.

It's not that bad yet, but I'm still worried. I was eyeing a mint complete copy of Atomic Robo Kid and Zoom for two bucks just the other day, so the real obscure stuff will take some time to follow with the trend I figure. I think when my birthday hits any gift money will go into a Genny shopping spree this year.

The games that i think will be the "grails" of the Genny collection are Joshua: Battle of Jericho, and Aero 2.
Ive only seen one Joshua on ebay, and havent seen an Aero 2 yet.

BTW i have noticed that the genesis game prices are not based on their rarity, but on their fan-following.

For instance, TJ&E is NOT a rare game, but a lot of people want it, and thats why it reaches high prices. In the other hand, there are other much rarer games than only pop out once or twice a monthj, and they end up below 20 US (Dune for Genesis and Caliber 50 come to mind)

Today, i went to my local GS to pick up some DC games because of the 30% off deal, and i was browsing the Genny selection. I then see a Punisher in great condition with the box for only $5! :) Hopefully i can get $50 whatever for it. BTW- If anyone has a spare manual for this game, please PM me.

Suppafly- Thanks for the heads up on the Joshua, but i really dislike the seller of it. I hate it when people put on ebay NEW GAME INSANELY RARE, and then say that it is a NEW cart. BS.

i bought several new stuff from her...nothing came with boxes, but you could see the games/accesories were new......for instance she sells NGPC games NEW...but without boxes........

The game may be new if she got some and threw away the box and manual. I doubt they are if thats not the case, because someone had to of played it before hand.

Look at www.sega-parts.com (I can't remember their eBay name, I think it's similar) They are certified new sellers of all things Sega and most of the older CD based games are disc only, and I don't think it's because they threw away docs & boxes or because anyone has played them. With NGPC stuff I believe SNK liquidated much of their stock, cartridge only to sellers. It's new, but just does not come from the factory with all the traditional packaging for one reason or another. Talk to DV, I know he buys things directly from Wisdom Tree.

Hmm. It does seem strange that Sega would just sell their CD games and nothing else, but they are new. With NGPC SNK did sell most of their cartidges without box and docs, so that may be what Wisdom Tree did.

Yes I do and I bet this game is actually brand new. The current owner of all the Wisdom Tree lot of games isn't the original owner, she is a former employee who bought up the entire old stock from the company itself. Some games were complete and others were in a stage of production (ie. parts like the boards, boxes and plastic cases for the boards were all over the place). So don't doubt that this game is new, it very well could be. The current owner still assembles the games when she has to and will complete them IF she has the box and docs, but maybe she has no more box and docs for this game.
