Maybe I should try and sell my Madden '93 with a BIN of $50?

If you mis-spell your Madden 93 as Pirates Gold there is a good chance you might get that $50.00

Shill bidding. The one guy raised it $70 by himself, and there was also a private user bidding once.
Come to think of it, i need Pirates! Gold.

That has all the look of an over-zealous newbie bidder.
A shill bidder wouldn't bid this so high nor would he he bid three times above the highest ammount. Only a rookie wouldn't understand the proxy system and bid as such.
Why did it go so high?
Same thing happened last year. The bidder did the search and mis-spelled it in his search. Since less copies were mis-spelled this MAY have been the only copy he found for sale and he went all out to get this easy to mis-spell game.

Why would you bid $100 three times in a row?

Someone who doesn't understand the proxy system will do that.
The last two bid weren't 100
They were 110 and 120 or 105 and 110 or whatever the min bids above the 100 mark are.

They were asking 15 bucks for a boxed one at my local GameStop. I passes it up, which I usually don't do with boxed NES games. It wasn't that bad of a typing error.

You are right it ISN'T that bad a typo.
Thats why its gets more money sometimes. Because the people looking for it ALSO mis-spell it.
There might be 50 on ebay spelled correctly but if you search with a mis-spelling then you have compete with the other mis-spellers for 1 or 2 copies. Combine this with a Chrismas rush and you can get some heavy bidding and high prices.
