I need a little help beating I-No as a boss. You know that move she's got where amps appear above her shoulders, she becomes totally invincible, and a stream of warning signs predict where these projectiles are going to travel, and if you get hit, not even blocking will save you from near-annihilation? There are three patterns to that move, and I can only dodge one of them. It's the very simple one where it's just basically a curved arc. Help, please, as she's beating the virtual s**t out of me. x_x

And my verdict on GGX2 is that it friggin' rocks. :guitar: :rocker: \^_^/

Can't help you there, she kicks my arse alot too. BTW, when she does that move and her health recovers after you hit her, she's in EX mode.

I love the music in that stage, "The Midnight Carnival".

How to beat boss I-no:

1) Megalomania (the bitchy super): She uses it 3 times a fight, once for every 25% health she loses. She is completely invincible during it. It has 3 patterns:
a-slight downward slope then a quick rise at the end - retreat and duck.
b-sine wave - get in the middle of it, and walk forward once it starts.
c-giant blast - get right next to her, and as it starts jump straight up, then jump again.

Note that she can FRC any of these if she has the meter for it. The only really tricky one is the sine wave, because at least at first you don't know when it will start moving forward.

And don't jump over her. Megalomania auto-tracks if you do that.

2) She has half meter (or one super), don't jump at her without Faultless defense (back to guard + 2 buttons, one of which cannot be dust). Her air super is stupid good, and if you jump and attack, she will use it to knock off about half life.

GGX2 is meh. Only a couple cool characters, the rest are boring. I-No however is pretty cool, only due to the fact that she rocks out when she wins.

I played story mode as Baiken, and I-No was the last person I had to face. The bitch had regenerating life, it was impossible to win. I could never avoid the super where the whole screen gets filled. Could never get the timing right on the double jump.

Oh well, there are way better fighters out there for me to play.

GGXX is a good fighter if you take the time to learn all the nuances. Kinda like alpha 3. As for the characters, I-No, May, Venom, Faust, Potemkin, they're all pretty sweet. But where's Amagon? Johnny sucks too...lame-ass cowboy wannabe.

Who is boring in GGXX? It has the most interesting and diverse cast of characters of any fighting game to come out in the past near decade.

No.

Last Blade 1+2, Samurai Shodown 4+5, Garou, Real Bout 2, SF3 all have better, more interesting, and more kick ass characters.

Everyone except Baiken, Slayer, and I-No is boring.

I've become an Axl Low fan lately myself actually. You gotta fight EX I-No at the end with Sol-Badguy also, I know that.

I wouldn't go that far...Real Bout 2 had some pretty generic characters like Franco Bash, and those chinese twins.

You gotta say that at the least, no one is generic in GGXX. Stupid, weird, lame, but not generic.

Indeed. I'm with Spoony Bard on this. Guilty Gear has the most inventive bunch of freak-job characters I've ever seen in a fighting game. Where else can you find a dualistically winged girl who seals you in a casket before launching a volley of laser arrows, a dolphin-throwing pirate brat who attacks with a huge anchor, or a moody blonde who shapes her hair into swords and wings and, strangely enough, man-in-the-moon faces? Even Sol and Ky, the standard Ken/Ryu leads, are fun.

Good as some SNK and Capcom creations are, they often mix stylish characters in with boring and disposable ones. I'm hard-pressed to think of a Guilty Gear cast member that isn't cleverly designed.

Besides, Samurai Shodown 4? Weren't the only new characters in that game Kazuki and Sogetsu? And weren't they unimaginative head-swapped fire n' ice twins?

wow, I have to totally disagree with butta on this one for once. I love GGX2, not as much as say KoF 97 or the Last Blades, but it's high up there. My main men Faust and Bridget (yes, bridget, face my yo-yo of doom, bitches!) and the character designs and music are unique at least.

I-no = teh sekushi

They weren't head swaps, were they? I seem to remember this comic where they poked fun at Capcom by comparing Kazuki and Sogetsu to Ryu and Ken, busting them on the fact that Ryu and Ken are head swaps. LOL

Anyway, I've barely played GGX2, but I can certainly say that it kicks total ass. There's no need for me to get the original GG or GGX, is there? I heard that there isn't, as GGX2 has all characters from both games. Anyway, glad I got it for Christmas.

But where's Amagon?

LOL LOL LOL

I thought I was the only one who knew about Amagon! I would have liked to see him too... along with Edward Windsor. Guess what Sammy game I'm alluding to there. ;)

One more thing: Slayer r00ls j00! (The character, but the band also kicks ass) :P

For the most part, GGXX (that's its official name) has all the characters from GG and GGX. Most of the characters play very differently in GG1, but its only picking up if you're curious. The only character XX doesn't have is Fanny, Faust/Baldhead's nurse from Guilty Gear Petit on the Bandai Wonderswan, who fights with a giant syrenge.

I love GGX2 even though it's just a -tad- over the top for my tastes . It looks, sounds, and controls great, and I have to say, there are some very cool character designs. The story seems to be overdone as fuck, but hey, its a fighting game, who cares?

I actually like Guilty Gear X a lot better than GGX2, not sure why. It seems to control different to me, not to mention the redesigned menus and health bars are gay-as-shit looking.

Yea GG's character are wacky and crazy, but that don't make them better or more interesting to me.

That said, I don't think GGX2 is a horrible game by any means, it's actually pretty fun in short doses.

And I don't think Kazuki and Sogetsu are just head swaps. They have different stances, weapons, and totally different specials. Ryu and Ken has pretty much the same shit.

I wouldn't say they are unimaginative either. IMO, they are well both well designed, and play totally different. Both are pretty powerful too. I prefer their design to ANY of the GGX characters, save Baiken and Slayer.

Ryu and Ken only look like they have the same stuff. But there's no way in hell you can play those two the same, in ANY game. Offhand, I can cite Ryu's higher speed fireball, and knockdown hurricane kick from HF changing completely how his game worked against Ken's.

Kazuki and Sogetsu are damned cool. That one move where Kazuki spontaneously combusts and somehow lives, I like that. I also really like Sogetsu's bubble capture move, which is like Sub Zero's Ice Ball.

Just a brief history on the grandfathers of Shoto-characters... Ryu and Ken WERE the exact same character in SF2, but that changed around Super SF2. By SSF2T and SFA, their styles have changed further, thanks to the addition of super combos. They had many things apart from each other in SFA3... Ryu had his Shanketsu Hadoken, and Ken had his Zenpou Tenshin. Don't get me started on SF3... thanks to the super arts, their completely different hurricane kicks, and that new move Ryu had that Ken didn't, (that step-in roundhouse) the evolution of Ryu and Ken was all but complete. Personally, I prefer Ken, if not just for his multi-hit Shoryuken.

One more thing: SLAYER IS TEH ROOL!!! :guitar: :rocker: \^_^/

Yea, I know that.

But originally all their animations where the same, just color and head swapped sprites.
