View Full Version : king of fighters ROM problems

i'm having trouble with my king of fighters MAME ROM's. basically what happens is after i dl them and ad the bios in i still get an error message for missing files when i try to play. so far i've downloaded kof ROM's from right here on the DP and also from news groups. but no matter where i get them from they all do the same thing, any suggestion? O_O

If you downloaded them from here they are most definitely the right roms. You probably are missing the Neogeo BIOS which is needed to play these games. Give me a list of what Mame tells you is missing.
Also, you are not "adding" the bios roms to the games rom file are you? These should stay as "neogeo.zip" and reside in your roms directory under Mame.

i got the bios in there (it is not added to the rom file, i have the bios zip in the roms folder) but here are the files that mames says is missing:
084-p1.bin NOT FOUND
084-s1.bin NOT FOUND
084-m1.bin NOT FOUND
084-v2.bin NOT FOUND
084-v3.bin NOT FOUND
084-c5.bin NOT FOUND
084-c6.bin NOT FOUND
084-c7.bin NOT FOUND
084-c8.bin NOT FOUND

Those are indeed kof95 romfiles. I have a complete rom if you need it.

I've had many problems with KoF 95 in the past... it didn't show up on MAME, and its graphics were grossly mutilated on Kawaks. I forgot where I finally got a working copy, but Zektor seems to have the situation under control. Enjoy KoF 95... can't get the Women Team's music out of my head. :)

Just a guess, but are you trying to play a Parent game (KOF95 had a clone right?)?

That is a very good guess. I thought of this already however. I bet this is exactly what is going on.

yeah yahoo will scream if you try to send 20 megs through it, wich you've probably found out, but my want for kof has inspired me to fix my real email account which is slip81@verizon.net, there shouldn't be a sending limit on this so you can try sending it there and see what happens. thanks man:)
