Dude, this is freaking awesome. I finally found a copy, and it was worth the trouble. How rare is this, anyway? I pretty much never see it. I got it for only $5 Canadian, still in the cellophane. Hooray!

You talkin' about for the PS1? I LOVE that game. One of the best drag-a-retro-title-into-the-modern-day efforts I've ever played. Gotta try the two player tandem mode someday when I've got a volunteer for a wingman. LOL

Damn right, that's got to be a blast. And I know just the girl to play it with me, too. :-)

As far as series modernizations go, this was very well done.

Excellent game, I must say. I kinda suck at it, though... not sure if I ever got past level 5. Anyway, the manual that came with my copy was fugged-up... don't remember exactly what was wrong with it. The game works fine, though. It's also available for downloading on MAME, but why would you want to do that when you've got the real deal on the PS? :D

Damn fine comp that is... if Solvalou had been included, it would have been perfect.

Yeah, I didn't even realize it had all the old versions until I started going through the manual. That makes it even more worth it.

I had no idea Super Xevious even existed until I picked this up. Amazingly, after searching every game store in my area for about a year, I found it at a CD Warehouse - in damn near perfect shape.

I didn't even realize this game was tough to find.

A couple of years ago I found it in a discount bin at KayBee Toys. I always loved Xevious (the original), so I picked it up, and was pleasantly surprised at how good the newer updates were.

no way, damn you guys, now I'm going to have to find a copy.

hey is it just me or did the original look better on the 7800 over the NES??!?

I would say the 7800 version made better use of color, but the NES had higher resolution and better sound.

I found this about 4 years ago at FuncoLand for about $2.99, it was in mint condition, and complete I couldn't pass up a new version of Xevious!!

Now with more powerful home systems.. I wonder if games like Solvalou (http://www.klov.com/game_detail.php?letter=S&game_id=9618)will start coming home in some "retro"-packages :D

That would be extremely cool, since I've never played it. Is it a free roaming kind of game, or more of a rail shooter like Star Wars Trilogy Arcade?
