What ever happened to Clyde?

Here is a question for the hardcore retrogamer. Why in the hell was Clyde replaced with Sue in Ms. Pacman? Did Namco ever explain why they ditched poor little Clyde? What the hell did he do to piss everyone off? Ever since i first played Ms. Pacman I pondered this. Anyone know?

who knows.....maybe namco was afraid clyde was gonna rape ms. pacman in her travels.

Just a Guess is that they figured the more the change the more difference people will see the more people will try. Just a guess.
