I ask because I gave my neighbors my GameCube for christmas. I felt bad cause they wanted one so bad and there parents wouldnt get one. I went yesterday and gave it to them from me, and they were so happy. I think it was worth giving up my spare (and 3rd) Gamecube. So What Systems have you given for B-days or the holidays?

BTW- Is my typing getting better or what? ;)

Well, my mother's company 'sponsored' a family for Christmas, we gave the 11-year old a Gamecube w/ games and the 9-year old a PSOne plus games. Also, we gave a PSOne bundle to the kids my mom babysits for Christmas. My friend John (hopefully not reading this :D) will be getting a 2600 w/ games for Christmas next time we see each other. Since we all work retail, it might be a while!

I gave my brother a Dreamcast for his birthday earlier this year. After seeing all the emulators and stuff for it, he thought mine was pretty cool, so I picked up a cheap one from a pawn shop for him.

I gave a Genesis II setup w/Mortal Kombat II and Sonic 2 to my sister in law's boyfriend. He was a huge MK2 fan, and had always wanted a Genesis 2.

I got my wife a Game Gear 2 years ago so she could play Bust a Move on it :)

I used to give my (In law relatives) systems for Christmas & Birthdays as an additional gift since they were always asking to borrow mine or talk like they wanter to get them for certain games that they liked or played way back..

For the last 4 Years I would give them a system & games..
This started with the..
NES,
Atari
GEN
GBC
Gen III
SNES
PS

And the last was the Ps2...

I stopped that crap...now..
For the reason that..everytime I give them a system and games they give it away after a few months to some other kid relative on my wife's side..
They don't have anything left but a PS that they bought after giving the one I gave them away..
This is in regards to my Sister in law and my wife's parents..
Then they say to me ..
ok,can you give me another one since you have so many...I want to play this game now..
Crap on that..
The kids/reletives they are giving the systems away to are not poor either..

I won't do it anymore..it strikes me as a use and abuse thing..

I did give my Sister a SNES (#3 in a few yrs)with games for Christmas, then though in some more games..
Sooner or later she'll forget about it,toss it to the side and want another later in time..

Sure I'm giving this stuff as gifts but damn..I don't like being asked for the same damn system again 3 months down the road..I'm no sucker..

Last Christmas I gave my nephew a Dreamcast and games. I've also given away a few Atari 2600s, one Colecovision and possibly a 7800 to friends, not for any holiday, just to spread the retro cheer.

I gave an N64, expansion pack, and perfect dark to my buddy for Christmas because he is a perfect dark freak, and always wanted one for himself!

I gave a Ps1 to a buddy about 6 months before the ps2 hit; He is a somewhat casual gamer. His girlfriend wound up playing it much more than he. Maybe it'll explode and send hot shrapnel into her face, that'd be nice.

Oh, and MAS2600: Yes, it is. You have made, me at least, very happy. Good work, keep it up.
