Why does this game go so high sometimes?

I think mainly because it's a must-have cart for the GBC. So if someone just picked up a GBC then they are probably itching for this cart. And you have to remember just as many if not more women love this game than men so it's bound to be popular. i think its the best game for the GBC, btw.

You see this effect in other games that are pretty common yet go for high prices when people run out to get them. Pitfall for the 2600 and NES Zelda are two examples.

It's supposed to be the best version of Tetris released for the GB. I was looking into this a while back.

they were higher last christmas. I sold my complete one for like $38 because I saw them going for crazy amounts last year......still an awesome game and more entertaining than most $50 games

And this is why GB/GBC/GBA collectors are very few, and far between. Most lots rarely go for less than $5 a cart - LOOSE. It could be the GBA factor, or people are stupid, or that Gamestop/Funco charges out the ass, or that it's just become the norm. :o

The GBA is exactly why every damned flea vendor I come across wants 10-20 a cart, loose, doesn't matter what game it is.
