Jumping Flash

I recently picked up Jumping Flash for PS1 with the original large case...No instructions however, so I have a few questions for those kind enough to answer.
1)Is it possible to strafe?
2)Are there any weapon upgrades?
3)Is the game rare at all (I got it for 4 dollars)

god i love that game. i think it might be slightly rare. i used to have jumping flash 2, but i bought it for somewhere around 10$.

I think if you hold R1 you can strafe. Its been years since I played it though, so don't hold me to it.
