Do U.S. SNES Pads work on PAL systems?

I don't believe they do for some reason. PAL pads will work on a US system find however. Not 100% here, but I recall not getting mine to work on a PAL SNES in the past...

i'm pretty sure it'll work, at least it should work for first-party ones
