Pretty cool, though I think it tries to be to many things. As we all know, if the console is made to do a lot of crap it will do nothing great. If the PS3 tries to be a Tivo and game machine it might cost more then people are willing to pay and not do either well. Like that handheld taco thing.

Very cool, but too damn expensive right now. I'll stick to my JPN PS2 and like it. :D

Cost WAY too much. I'd rather just have a PS2 and a TIVO.

Your avatar is somewhat hypnotic. It's hard to read your post with it just bouncing away. :)

It should go down in price quite a bit since there is little interest or it will slowly die -_- There are greater alternatives to this system who would really need this system?

SONY "says" that it is marketing it towards the Japanese. Because they don't have as much room in their homes , so an all in one device is needed and should sell well.
We'll see ........................

But can you use it here? Is there a service to subscribe to for PVR/Tivo even if you did import one? Was there a Lik Sang price? I couldn't find any of this info in that article.

Click on the model number. I think the version w/ the smaller HD was $750.

I think the Idea is great, but if the PSX comes out here, it will fail. The general public will not buy it and most gamers will wait for the PS3. I hope Sony does not dump a bunch of money in this idea, I think its gonna flop. Too expensive, even for me!

Ignoring EVERYTHING else.... You have to admit, a 12X DVD Burner is goddamn SWEET. Hell, it would be worth the price just to pull the burner out at this point in time ;)

It is kind of funny that Sony(captain anti piracy) is making a gaming multimedia device that burns DVD's :D

I doubt this will come here in Australia, because we have no Tivo kinda service (EPG Based) in our TV systems and won't till at least 2008. No Tivos for us until then. This thing costs A$1100, and People here didn't buy the PS2 until it hit A$600 or so. If anything, it will fail spectaclarly, because it's an all in one system. ALL all in one systems have failed previously (Amiga CDTV, N-Gage, etc) and I don't see why this one would change that just because it has S O N Y on there...
