This new year, you'll want to curl up next to the fireplace with something good to read. Something like this.

It's On-File, the archive of video game fanzines. Currently, it's outdated and the layout is primitive, but I'm giving some thought to improving the layout and adding more original content. In the meantime, enjoy this compilation of the best articles and reviews from over a dozen video game newsletters.

Ah, I didn't realize it was a membership thing. As long as I'm not going to get more SPAM or have to do any actual work, count me in! :)

Hey sign me up, 'coz my who's who entry is inaccurate. :) Where's the reg form?

Man, while I'm home for vacation I should dig out my fanzine collection for scanning. I kinda don't want to touch it 'coz I'll probably lose them if I brought them back to California.

There'll be no spam; just the occasional site update notice. As I mentioned in the site FAQ, members aren't obligated to do anything except allow their articles to be published on the On-File web site.

The membership system was put in place to address copyright issues. If I just printed the articles on the site without the permission of their respective authors, I could get in big trouble... and that could in turn spell doom for the project. That's why I only publish content from the fanzines of On-File members.

The On-File FAQ should answer many of your questions about the organization. You'll find it in the URL listed below.

P.S. Blah, I'll need to know who you are and what fanzine(s) you published before I can accept you as an On-File member.
P.P.S. I should probably mention that some of the information in the FAQ is outdated. I'll remedy that over the weekend.
