There are lots of beat-em-ups... it's a genre that never got much exposure. How many beat-em-ups can you recall?
Double Dragon I, II, III, and Super Double Dragon
Final Fight trilogy
Streets of Rage trilogy
River City Ransom
Captain Commando
Alien vs. Predator
Golden Axe
Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder
Alien Storm
Crime Fighters
Vendetta
Violent Storm
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
T.M.N.T. II: Turtles in Time
Knuckle Bash
Knights of the Round
King of the Dragons
Dungeons and Dragons: Tower of Doom and Shadow Over Mystara
Knights of Valour
Any more I could add to that list? I know the genre didn't have too many entries... it's a shame, because I love beat-em-ups. There's a reason why I often play as the Final Fight characters on Street Fighter Alpha 3... ;)

Bad Streeet Brawler / Bop'n Rumble -- The only game where you get attacked by blind men swinging their canes and old women who throw their purses. Personally, the killer gorillas were my favorite part ...

WHOA!!! X_x @_@ :eek 2:
Heh, beat-em-ups are a lot more famed than I thought! I'm a moron... Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was one of the most popular games ever, thanks to its four-player action. They used to be all the rage in the early and mid-90's... too bad I was just a babbling little toddler back then. Now that I'm a teenager in this modern era, beat-em-ups are practically dead... *sigh* :(

One of my favorite beat-em-ups is Electronic Popple, an extremely obscure PC game available at Underdogs. (Reportedly, it was published by Capcom.) You play as a microchip wandering through a computer, pounding on evil capacitors, resistors, and keyboard keys, among other things. My favorite is the evil hard drive.
Great graphics, a good amount of variety, and reasonable challenge. (There's even an experience point system.) A fine game in many ways.

Would Zombies Revenge, Nightmare creatures, or The Hunter series qualify?
Or, are those considered Hack n slash?
Bayou Billy
X-Men Series (Genny and SNES)

Target Renegade for the NES
I didn't see that one listed.
