Anyone have a Windows 95 installer cd they're willing to give away/sell for cheap? I'm trying to make a dual-boot system on my laptop and all the Windows 95 system discs I have just have the system data on it and aren't bootable (they're from various Macintosh Windows emulators so they're not "real" installer discs).

Can't pay too much, but send me a PM if you can help. :)

I've still got my 95 Upgrade cd somewhere if intrested.

Well, the thing is, I currently have Windows 2000 installed and every time I use the "setup" programs on the 95 discs I already have, I keep getting a "cannot be run from NT" message. So I need to have the cd be bootable so it can bypass my W2K system in order to install W95.

Does your disc require that W95 already be on the system? If so, I don't think it'll work. :(

If I remember correctly (it's been a while), the Windows 95 Upgrade CD was just like a regular W95 CD, except it had an OS check. You didn't necessarily have to have another OS installed, but you could just put a floppy in the drive when it asked. It would say something like, "this is an upgrade CD, insert a floppy from your old OS" and then you could put a Windows 3.1 or DOS install diskette into the floppy drive. It would check the disk, and if it determined it was an install disk, it would continue.

Queen, I threw away literally dozens of W95 install CDs when I moved. We used to get them all the time at work. I will search the garage today and see if I still have any.

@Flack: That's a problem. I don't have any other earlier system discs. :(

@Drex: I want to install W95 because I wanna play Wizardry Archives, Magic: The Gathering, and Might & Magic: World of Xeen again, dammit. :angry: They worked fine on the Mac emulator, you'd think I could play them on my freakin' Windows-based laptop. :roll: LOL

I will sell you my Windows 95 CD cheaply, you just need to pay the shipping, and a small fee for the CD (it's not worth much anyway)

I will certainly do this for you!

I'm in the UK, but we have very quick shipping,

Please PM if you would like to do this trade, it will save me having to list the disc on ebay too (lol I just saved it into the turbo lister program tonight! strange coincidence!)

Queen, if that's the case with the system disk I could probably find one my old system ones to copy for ya.
