We need some nighttime stuff to plan, since we probably won't have major independent Vegas style activities.

I suggest a Warlords rotation with maybe 10 2600s setup (that's enough for 40 people, eh?), and points for everyone- 4 for last man standing, 3 for 2nd to last. We could each keep score of our own points and have some prizes, etc. To keep people from playing the same people over and over we could have an ordered random list/rotation.

Anyway, there are alot of fun things we can do with classic consoles.

Can someone program a version of Warlords for 8 people (use with Atari 2800)?

Not to be a nitpicker, but I'd really like to know where CGE will be this year ASAP. As of today, we're at 8 months, 9 days and I've begun saving my pennies. But I really need to know if I'm flying to Vegas or the West Coast, as my funds hinge on what my airfare will end up being.

I realize that things are still being hashed out, but I'd hate to see fly-in attenance drop due to a last-minute "OK, *here's* where we'll be"-type announcement.

Hope things are nearly finalized one way or another. Oh, and a Warlords tourney would be great! I'd also suggest a Starpath PArty Mix tourney.

Me too!!!! :)

Seriously though, we're very close to being finalized. In fact I envision we'll be taking a trip to finalize locations in the next couple of weeks. As soon as we're locked in, we'll let you know here!

A west-coast CGE would be great for me... I could take my summer vacation a that time and kill 2 birds with one stone by going to Vancouver afterwards to visit my family.

Anyway, can't wait to know where it'll be!

Not that this is a poll, but I vote for Vegas. It's more centralized, and not quite as far for those of us who are driving. :)

How's this for some after-hours fun:

16 Atari ST's daisy-chained through the MIDI ports, running MIDI Maze. Better yet, 15 would be for playing, with the 16th hooked up to a large TV as the Observer Cam (top down view of the playing grid). If you haven't played MIDI Maze, you haven't played #@%!.

Back when I lived in San Diego, the San Diego Atari Users Group used to do a setup like this at the California Computer Expo every year at the SD Convention Center. Last time I attended, though, was back in '96.

pittsburgh pennsylvania isn't a bad choice either with the new convention center.

Well, except that it's on the east coast. They're not really looking for anything outside of the west coast, for many reasons, the biggest one being the fact that most of the keynote speakers (programmers and the like) live in that area, and it's hard enough getting them to come without requiring them to fly across the country.
