Perhaps it crawled it while it was in the bin? Seriously, just brush it out, nothing to bitch over.

Gamestop used to be terrible, but it seems that they all changed overnight and no one complains anymore. Not about what they used to complain about, which were terrible terrible service.

Well, I don't have a GameStop near me -- I DO, kinda off, but it's a former FuncoLand. I get all my new games from EB, which is only about 10 minutes from me.

Worst problem I've had with them? Not being called on a couple of pre-orders.

No, they're still a bunch of dumbasses who among other things like to sell used games and call them new

You know who does not do that? Toys R Us. Perkar and I were just in there and they had a bunch of titles priced at $9.90 and $7.80, simply because they were the display copies. I picked up a brand new Shinobi and Tenchu for PS2 for $9.90 a piece, and Perkar got the Gamecube mega man game for the same. Quite a deal, you all should check your locals.

Gamestop employees are only human (yes, I know, some of you have your doubts), I have never had a problem with my local Gamestop, I am friends with every person who works their, and I am greeted by name when I enter the store.

All game stores have varying degrees of pain in the assness. The gamestops here in town, the one I go to is a new (2 years old). They have a good selection of most everything and are pretty friendly. They are just butt slow, and not always knowledgeble about things. I know not all game store employees are gamers, but you need some I think. Like yesterday I went in. Got 4 games (metal slug x, samba de amigo, hot shots golf 2, wild arms). I spent 15 minutes while this guy found the games. Btu at least one good thing. Picked up a dogbone controller there for 1.99:)

Gamestop isn't stupid. I have em help me with my homework all the time LOL

it all depends on the store you go to. The one over in Lincoln Park has idiots working at it, who didn't even know what I was talking about when I wanted Pac-man Vs. But on the flipside, I'm friends with the manager of one in Taylor, and I've gotten good stuff there and at a number of other locales.

I hear alot of people complain about game crazy, but i've never personally had a problem. Hell I found some good stuff there too. Proving that its all based on what you're looking for, and what store you're at(as well as being able to make the observation that you are getting what you want-achika's game crazy trip, and my EB trip can attest to that).

Personally, I enjoy these rants... but that's just me. I also don't mind when someone starts any new thread on a topic that has been done before... not everyone wants to dig through archives, and someone might have something new to add. Everyone has bad (or good) customer service stories of varying degrees for almost any type of business, and I enjoy hearing about encounters that occur in game stores.

I was once at the local Gamestop and watched while a 30-ish year old father let his year-ish infant son run and scream throughout the store. I watched as the baby knocked down a six foot tall Mario Party standee and start to crawl all over it while the father looked passively on without saying a word or attempt to stop his baby from wrecking the store. I watched the Gamestop employee (the one with the patience of a saint) say between gritted teeth, "would you please pick up your child while you're in the store?"

I watched myself through the reflective glass as I walked out of the store before I could say something to that prick of a lame-ass father. Not the kid's fault... it was the parent's fault. That kid is going to grow up wild with no social skills or public manners.

Unfortunately these days, that's not an uncommon occurence...

Here at DP we encourage people to search the archives to reduce redundancy. Many times a question that someone posts has already been answered, and for the sake of later data retrieval, it's easier & more efficient to have all the information (and thus continue the old conversation with new posts) in the same place. If we feel a thread is similar enough to a previous one, we will provide a link to the already existing thread and lock the new one.

Hell, at least the guys at Gamestop are friendly. The guys at eb act like you kicked their mom in the balls. Also, Gamestop has a perfect record for getting the right disc in the case and ringing things up correctly, something Eb seems to have problems with. A lot of time the service you get is a direct result of your attitude and social skills, although that certainly isn't always the case. Being pleasant and friendly seems to help out a lot more than being an asshole and demanding service. Also, most children should be banned from public places or at least leashed (I don't care, they need to be).

God, I hate #%&* Gamestop! Other than the 30% Dreamcast sale, the store sucks.

I had an issue with one of the idiots there today. On my right side were two kids getting hosed by the employee behind the counter, receiving $73 for a bunch of stuff including GameCube and Game Boy Advance games that their parents probably paid full price for Christmas. When I walked up to the counter, I traded in a Gungrave PS2 I bought at Circuit City for $5 (worth $7 in trade-in) and two Winter 2002 PS2 Jampacks I bought for .01 each (worth $1 in trade-in) for a new copy of Bomberman Online DC. The guy stood there and looked at them like I was doing something fishy. Also, he tried to refuse me the 30% off on Bomberman. I stood there and stared at him like I could have ripped his lungs out. He sighed, reluctantly gave me the credit, and he stated that he didn't want to know anything if I was pulling some kind of trade-in scam. :hmm:

I replied that just because I wasn't letting Gamestop hose me didn't mean that I shouldn't be able to trade there. I told him that I hadn't planned on pulling a scam, but I might just go to a different GS store every day and get a $1 for a single Jampack just to spite him. I have dozens of them...

Now if someone had 20 copies of a game brand new I might understand. He shouldn't have said something like that to you. It just gets people angry at them.
