What's the worst packaged item you've ever received from eBay?

I bought an autographed Chewbacca Star Wars action figure. The figure was "new on card". I paid $5 for USPS shipping.

When I got the figure, it was in a cheap $1 bubble mailer FOLDED IN HALF. Although I was able to somewhat flatten out the card, pretty much any collector's value it once had is now gone.

When I purchased a boxed copy of Sonic 3D Blast I specifically requested that they ship the game in a box, so what I get is the game in a bubble mailer, loosely sliding around in an oversized priority box.

Damage was minor though, and I was still able to make a slip from scans of the packaging to use in a plastic casing.

I got an Atari 7200 with controllers and 10 games.
It came in a box with everything thrown in with no padding, bubble wrap, newspaper, NOTHING.

The 7200 was broke in half. All 4 screws that held the top half to the bottom half had broke.
Needless to say I was pissed . If I hadn't paid $20 shipped and had a spare broken 7200 for parts for it I would have done something about it.

I e-mailed the seller and they said "Oh I was out of bubble wrap."
That earned them a negative.

Bubble Wrap is evil!

Because of it, it allows people to pack things cheaply and more times than not they get what they pay for.

I got a complete nes game that was shipped in nothing! The actual game box was taped shut at the top and my address was taped onto the front of the game! I couldn't believe it. In retrospect, it's funny to laugh at such stupidity, but I didn't think it was funny at the time.

My worst was when I won 5 games I needed at the time. I paid standard rate for the items, Priority. 2 weeks later, I got one rattling game, the wrong game, in a manilla envelope, 40 cents shipping. This guy managed to rip off a bunch of other people as well, before disappearing again.

I think Dr. Morbis wins. ;D

A friend of mine won a loose 7800 auction with 5 games and 3 controllers. The stoopid woman threw everything in an oversized priority mail box with no packaging whatsover. When my friend got the box, it rattled like hell. He opened it up to find the 7800 in a million pieces.

I got something a few days ago, but I'm not going to complain too much because it was in a cardboard box and wasn't damaged at all, but the only padding that I got with it was two crumpled up sheets of paper and some popped bubble wrap.

I once got 8 Sega CD games packaged in an oversized box, with a little newspaper throw in the bottom...

....imagine the mess

I won a boxed and complete Miracle Piano for NES a while back, and the seller wrapped the piano's outer box in USPS mailing tape. Almost covered the entire box with it. I had asked for insurance, seeing that the item was pricey....good thing I did since it looked like the seller took absolutely no time in preparing the item to ship. Luckily, everything inside the box was fine, but the box was totally beaten o hell and back.

But my box is destroyed.... :(

I bought DDR Disney with "free DDR pad!"

Later, I opened my front door to get my mail and there was the box for the DDR pad on the ground with no packaging, just a mailing label stuck on the front. I picked it up and the DDR Disney CD fell out of a GIANT HOLE IN THE BACK OF THE BOX. I can't believe how lucky I was that the game was even still in there.

Luckily Im getting the miracle piano from my friend and it includes everything it originally came with even the box and papers. He just has to get it from his cousinn's and it will be mine for 15 bucks.

I bought 4 brand new 3DO games from a seller a couple of months ago. They charged me $6.00 shipping for the 1st game and $2.00 for each additional game, totalling $12.00 in shipping and handling charges.

I thought to myself "Okay, that's fine, especially since I bought the games for only $1.99-$2.99 each so it evens out."

2 weeks after sending payment through PayPal, I received a large, slightly crushed Manila Envelope on my doorstep.

I was shocked to open it and find my 4 3DO games inside, with ALL 4 of the boxes crushed!

I then took a look at the postage and it was marked with a "$1.87" Media Mail rate on the postage sticker.

I was pissed that the seller not only overcharged me for shipping, but even failed to ship the games properly.

Upon emailing the seller, I demanded that they compensate me for the crushed games that I was overcharged for in terms of shipping.

They said something to the effect of "Oh, I'm sorry but I'm not the one who sets the shipping prices. My shipper is the one who does that.... blah blah".

They offered me a discount on shippin for a future order but guess what?

The only items they were selling were the exact 4 games I had just bought from them!

I emailed them back and said "Look, there's nothing that you're selling that I want to buy. I bought every 3DO title that you have. Please refund me the shipping charges of $10.00 and we'll call it even."

After that email, I never heard back from them.

So what choice did I have? I went to ebay and left them "NEUTRAL" feedback since I was satisfied that I received the games albeit in mangled condition.

You know what their response was? They left me 4 negatives with responses like "SELLER BEWARE!! EMAILED PACKAGE CRUSHED GAMES OK NO PROBLEM. LEAVES BAD FEEDBACK".

I never told the seller I was satisfied with the games.

Last I checked, "NEUTRAL" according to Ebay terminology, meant "neither satisfied nor dissatisfied". Then they go off and leave me negative feedbacks.

I hate idiotic people like this. It's no wonder why so many people hate the whole "retaliation feedback" on Ebay.

If it were up to me, these people would be booted from Ebay and then drawn and quartered by my minions.

I won a full size Dr. Doom statue on Ebay. The guy had good feedback so I was not worried. He sends in in a beat up box with 1 peice of tape over the top. I wanted to give him a Neg. but did not want one on my record, I guess that is want all his past buyers thought too.

I bought a power pack for the atari computer one time and it was new in the box (that I wanted to keep) but he just slapped a shipping label over the front and shipped it out. It was only a spare power pack so I wasn't pissed or anything. I guess I have been luckier than the people in this thread, all my systems have arrived in great packaging. I would be extremely pissed if someone didn't use any packaging material, it is just common sense.

I bought a Q-Bert board game back in October. Overcharged $1.50 for the shipping. If my board game would have come without being smashed up...then I wouldn't be pissed, because maybe the seller had used that $1.50 for packing materials.

But when you wrap the board game in just craft paper with no protection or outer box...that's when I gripe about being overcharged by $1.50. Since there was a nice big gash/rip/dent in the back of the box that's basically made this next to worthless. I can't even stack my board games up with this one without it almost being flattened as a pancake. And forget putting it on top of a small shelf because it will catch the rip and fall off. Q-Bert pieces everywhere. ugh.

I remember winning a ShuttleGrafx that was supposed to be MIB ..

the seller CUT the box up into pieces so it would fit into a shipping box..
most of the original packing was missing from the original box..

that REALLY pissed me off because it was a rare system to get at
the time in that condition,, and he ruined it.
what a waste of $300.
