Favourite Console (PS2/Xbox/Gamecube) for Sports Games

Sports Fans! Which of the big three do you prefer playing your sports games on?

By sports games I'd like you to think about the team sports: Football, Hockey, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer.

And I don't care about classic sports games and how you prefer them to today's stuff. Start another poll if you'd like...

I used to be a Sony man. But I've switched teams.

I still think the DualShock is a great controller for sports games, but the memory card aspect forced the issue. I had to purchase a second memory card because Madden 2002 was such a hog. Never again.

So far I've only got one sports game for Xbox (World Series Baseball), but I'll be buying more shortly. NHL 2002 *was* going to be a PS2 purchase but no longer...

Oh yeah, and I've never really enjoyed the modern sports games on any Nintendo machine. The button configuration makes them more difficult I'd think. As much as I love that configuration for other games.

i only own a ps2, so that's what i play my sports games on by default. and the memory card isnt really an issue for me, these days i really only play madden 2003 franchise. its the only way the bears can win back to back superbowls. :mrgreen:

Actually, the PS2 is the only one I'd THROW OUT. When I play sports games nowadays, it's almost always with 4 players or more. The fact that I need a special multi-tap for the PS2 really pisses me off.

Between XBox and GameCube I can't say I've played enough sports games from both to make a good judgement call here, but since we do play a lot of Beach Spikers I'm gonna go with the GameCube for now. Ask again in a few months :)

PS2 all the way! The controllers are the best for sports.
I've NEVER played with more than one other person at the same time, so I've always liked consoles with 2 ports better myself :)
