One of these Sega Megadrive 2's (that's like a Genesis 2)

Before me fiddling with it, it would not do anything. Turn on with a game in, you get a black screen. I opened it up, started cleaning everything.

Cleaned the cartridge slot, with a toothbrush and isopropyl alcohol, then used a rubber (of course I let the alcohol fully dry)

I've tried a game on it. The console works now, but there is an annoying buzzing noise / wierd noise, it starts off after the boot up screen comes on, then it goes seeeeega (throughout this the noise is not going on), and then when playing the game, it's all the way through the game randomly. Like a blitting noise..

If I push the RF connection up a bit, the picture goes off, but I think this is normal anyway, it doesnt go off when its just plugged in normally.

So basically it's nearly fixed, there's just this bloody blitting noise?

Anyone got any ideas?

I dunno if my experience pertains to this, but my friend owns a Genesis model 1, and it suffers from the same buzzing noise that you're describing. It played fine for years, until water dripped on it. The system was set up in the basement underneath some pipes, and one day, she discovered water slowly dripping on the system and inside the cartridge slot. Ever since then, there's been a goofy buzzing noise. Oddly enough tho, the headphone slot has perfect sound.

Another example would be the model 2 Genesis I got from ebay. The person I bought it from had it stored away in the garage, and apparently, either the changing temperatures out there, or the moisture in the air messed it up. The sound's all distorted now.

So maybe your system got wet somehow. Judging from my friend's problems and my own, moisture + Genesis = buzzy buzzy. But that's just my hypothesis.

Is the buzzing coming fromthe genesis itself or the TV speaker. If the TV, I'm led to believe you should use video cables rather than an rf switch.
