What are the best games to play while DRUNK?

I am in the process of writing an article for a magazine and the topic is "what are the best games to play while intoxicated?" I was wondering if people could share some stories and suggestions on this very important (sense the slight sarcasm) topic. Thanks to all! I have to go and start drinking!

I have not drank much in my life. 2 times actually. the one time I tryed playing Madden and it was a bad site. That is definatly not a good game. I kept quitting angrily.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed so far. The crash mode in Burnout 2 is going to be a blast. I was thinking that the eyetoy along with its mingames would be cool to play while the piss colored poison is running through my veins. I was also thinking about emulation discs just for the fact that you have a whole bunch of games that you can get to without getting up. That is key. Thanks to all and keep suggestions coming, esp. ones that have yet to be listed!

The first time I played Mortal Kombat, it was in the summer of 1995, on the SNES. I was 19 then and got drunk on sambucca (don't worry, legal drinking age in Quebec is 18). It was at a friend's 20th birthday and the guys were playing MK2, and I decided to give it a try. Thanks to the sambucca (and to some clever button-smashing), I managed to kick some butt. :D

*sigh* Those were the times! Hard to believe that it was 8 1/2 years ago! It feels like yesterday... and yet a lifetime ago, as it happened a couple of weeks before the end of my no-boyfriend draught (soon after I met Jay, then Craig, then Steve... with whom I'm still with).

More recently, I've played DDR in an arcade while drunk, in-between karaoke songs (the karaoke bar where I used to hand out has a separate arcade section with a practical inside door within the bar). I'm not sure if I find it easier to play DDR with or without alcohol in my body, as I'm far from the person with the best coordination... Fear not, as I did not injure myself either way. Unfortunately, the DDR machine is gone from that arcade, so no more drunken bouts of DDR, at least not in that arcade. :(

Some of the best ones would be DDR (only with dance pad, mind you), Karaoke Songs, EyeToy games. It's so amazingly easily to embarrass yourself when you're sober, you're sure to laugh at someone who's drunk while playing those games.

Some other good ones are: Tetris, Multi-player bomberman, and my friend and I once went bezerk while playing Radiant Silvergun while under the influence.

Well, I haven't done it in a while, but the best was playing drinking games with the video games. I remember back in the day EGM posted a drinking game for Perfect Dark and it was a blast. Another good game o play is anything in the Mario Party series and play drink when you lose a mini game or something like that.. Make up your own rules. It's fun as hell with friends though.

The game we usually play while drinking is a fishing game... Reel Fishing 2, I believe, for the Playstation. You can play it with one hand, leaving the other hand available for holding your beer.

Set up "Flash Mode". Each player has 3-4 virii they must destroy. When a player clears their bottle, the others must drink once/twice for each virus left.

Easy! .... DEATH TANK!! .... Best drunk videogame ever. Simple. All on one screen. You get to kill your mates and shout obscenities at the top of your voice. You get special bonuses for killing the person in the lead ... which is always fun! And when you hear those fateful words "Hey kids - it's time for a blitz round!" - well, nothing compares!

And there is one game from my childhood that I have always looked back on and thought would be great to play when drunk. It was called Harvey Headbanger, I think. Two player game - you both move around a sqaure arena, picking up drinks of varying strengths. You then try to slam into the opposing player to knock them out... the more drinks you pick up, the more damage you do - but also, the more drinks you pick up, the more sluggish and peverse your controls become. Sheer genius!!

Been trying to find a download of it for ages, without success .. it was on the Amstrad CPC 464. Aaaah! Those were the days!

Like a certain wine that goes with a particular cheese, I've found that certain types of alcohol and/or mixed drinks are a perfect fit with particular games. Here is my list:

Don't drink much, but the game that I find I do best at went 'slightly out of it' is Kaboom for the 2600 (or 5200 for that matter). It's the kind of game that needs you to be slightly out of focus to really be good at...

Man, I drink far too little. I would say: Golden Tee. Just kidding. It certainly wins for barroom prominence.

The GTA series is good for random violence.

Of course Samba is great.

I think the ultimate would be: WARLORDS
